The final words of song are “Try everything”, which reinforces the most important values that the persona has talked about and that the reader has learned about throughout the entire song. Throughout the song, the theme of perseverance and learning from your mistakes is emphasised the persona. This message is fully encapsulated in these last two words of the song, leaving the reader feeling hopeful, confident and empowered.
The song “Try Everything” seems to be an encouraging, empowering song, particularly to those who have faced a failure in life and seem dejected, depressed, discouraged, downtrodden or even unmotivated to move forward. It inspires them to persevere and learn from their mistakes to be able to keep going. The main repetition throughout the song is “Try everything” which is used to convey to the readers to not be scared of new challenges or obstacles that they might face, but instead we should be motivated and feel empowered that we can learn from our failures. Reinforcing the idea that failure is not a something is not to perceived as something to dread or fear, instead it should be perceived as a stepping stone to success, thus making the effort to try new things doesn’t seem as intimidating as we can just overcome our failure if we make one. The persona uses a the present continuous tense to reinforce perseverance and thus the attitude of the persona has been fully realised through the song, not only is the persona someone who has very strong willpower and perseverance but the persona is also someone who embraces a growth mindset when it comes to learning from their mistakes

The use of “hitting the ground” and “get up now” in lines 7 and 8 respectively, emphasises the persona’s attitude towards failure whenever they fail or fall down, they will get back up no matter what.
This stanza creates an empowering tone. The stanza makes the reader feel electrified and motivated as they read how the persona falls and fails but keeps going and getting back up. The tone encourages the reader and creates an uplifting atmosphere.

In line 6 of the song, the persona continuous to speak about their own failures and the sense of loss. ”Lost to myself”, this suggests that the speaker has something they want to achieve but they failed themselves. However in line 6 the speaker then says “but I'll just start again”. These two phases used in line 6 contradict themselves creating an oxymoron.
