    1. Research has also indicated that there is no difference between genders in the overall usage of Internet. There are, however, differences in the way the Internet is used indicating that females are more prone to use the Internet for communications purposes while the males play more games and search for information

This was more or less said in a previous text and it makes sense. But of course, each gender has their own likes and differences so maybe in different states there are different usages?

    2. The cell phone can truly be regarded as a necessity of modern times.

If they could survive without this technology then, why can't we now? are we really so attached to a small device?

    3. Thus one can reasonably expect that the behavior regarding the use of cell phones will continue to change especially with the emergence of smartphones, and particularly so among younger people.

Because technology is forever changing and our generation is becoming more addicting each time something new comes out, shouldn't that make developers realize that they are enablers of this addiction?

    4. Young people are very dynamic consumers of cell phone related communication products and services.

Why is this? Is it because we have more time on our hands? Why are young people so vulnerable to the addictive usage?

    1. Thus, it is important for researchers and mental health professionals who discuss with adolescents parents, their exposure to new media including television, internet and cell phone so that prevention can be made for improvement of mental health and well-being of adolescents.

This is a huge concern for anyone who cares about the well-being of others because watching someone lose contact with the outside world because they are so attached to a world they created in their phones is scary.

    2. survey found that adolescents who play more than one hour of video or computer games daily were rated as having more attention difficulties

Maybe it is because they are sidetracked by what they did wrong in the game?

    3. Studies of adolescent's online activities found that they predominately use the internet to communicate with friends by instant messenger and email, for entertainment purposes, for social networking and for playing online computer games (Willoughby, 2008). In recent years, adolescent's cell phone ownership has rapidly increased.

because of this excessive usage of mobile devices, it can lead to addiction very easily.

    5. There is no doubt that today's adolescents are confronted with a media environment that is very different from the one faced by their grandparents or even their parents.

Today's generation did not go through half of the troubles as their grandparents or parents did. Yes, we have been through some, but nothing comparable to what some of their older generation's family have been through.

    1. Falleiro (2016) reported boys spending more than girls; and strong association between ownership of smartphones and use. A study of 197 participants (Kwon& Lee etai., 2013) reported that persons with lower education levels were more likely to have smartphone addiction. Naik, Kadam, Patii, and Gore (2017) reported excess use of mobile phone is significantly associated with age and stream of education.

Maybe this is because they spend more time doing other things rather than obtaining education, which in this case can lead to excessive use of cell phones which can become addicting.

    2. The usage of females was again attributed for maintaining social relationships.

in the same study, it is shown that women are found to be more on social medias and dating apps. They seem to have a higher attachment to the mobile devices.

    4. The smartphone is now not only a tool of communication, but an indispensable instrument of an individual's social and work life.

What I can take from this information is that an individual can use their cell phone so much that they rely on it for simple tasks which in turn leads to the dependency of the mobile deice.

    5. Positive effects of technology are proving useful in people's daily life. However, it also has negative effects on society such as technology addiction. Cell phone dependency is one of the subset of technology addictions which have become serious problems these days; especially among younger users

As this sentence states, cell phones have become a serious problem these days in younger users, even if they provide useful applications, they can become addictive.

    1. We need to stop allowing colleges to increase tuition every year. The next thing we know, it's going to cost more to attend college for one semester than it is to buy a new home!

This is an example of slippery slope because the sentence is suggesting that "we need to stop allowing colleges to increase tuition every year." which in turn is saying sooner or later it will cost more to attend college for one semester than it is to buy a brand new home.
