    1. My Papa and Mama’s great indulgence to me leaves it to me to choose our place of residence either in town or country, but I think it more prudent as well as agreeable to my Mama and self to be in the country during Father’s absence.

      I think her audience is a family member or close friend by the way she uses Mama and Papa instead of like Mother or Father. Its significant because again shes talking about making her own choices and basically being on her own. There were other sentences in the letter that make it seem as if she is living alone.

      I think this is written to a friend or a family member maybe. I think its significant because shes talking about how she can be happy and do everything herself without anybody's help. She mentions again being a girl at her early age of life. By this she is inferring that she is still young.

      What was she doing to add to her family's wealth? If she was managing HER money then she has to be doing something that's earning her money. What is she doing?
