    1. The third principle calls on social workers to value the dignity and worth of the person, and states that social workers should actively consider individual differences and cultural and ethnic diversity and treat each person with care and respect.

I think this should be the main focus of anyone involved in advocacy or policy making. Is there a similar code of ethics for lawmakers?

    2. social workers should not discriminate “on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, political belief, religion, immigration status, or mental or physical ability”

My current position is with the department of children and family services as a foster home licensing representative. In this role I work with prospective foster parents and talk with them about their rights and responsibilities as foster parents. 1. The U.S. Congress consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate has 100 members, 2 from each state. Members of the Senate serve six-year terms. The House of Representatives has 435 members, with each state’s representation being proportionate to the size of its population. At the time of this writing, the most populous state is California, which has 53 members in the House. The smallest delegations come from the states of Alaska, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming, which have one representative apiece. Members of the House serve two-year terms. The primary functions of the U.S. Congress are legislation (creation of laws) and budgeting (collection and allocation of public funds).
