    1. There is still time to lock in a future climate similar to what the world experienced this pastyear. The longer we delay, the more unrecognizable our children's and grandchildren'sfutures become

How can we change this for our good? What are the big steps we can change, how can we do better?

    2. now, we are not preparing our students to be successful in theirfutures, and by not admitting to that, we are failing them

What can we do to make a positive change? We can have out future generations failing us too

    3. they are not alone, that we'll work forthem to mitigate emissions as quickly as possible

I feel that our generation has been on this joneyt to save our planet with no help with previous generations. So How do we see this help in our future? Can we trust that the rest of the generations will finally set up and do their job, or must we do it alone like always?

    4. we need tounderstand — at the bare minimum — the climate science that they learn in school so thatwe can lend a sympathetic ear to their concerns about their futures, and oer practical,well-informed advice about what to do

When would this benefit our society? This act of understanding the bare minimum benefit our society currently or the lifeless society that we will have in the future?

    5. It is also fundamentally unfair and unjust for us — part of the generations that havebenetted from unmitigated resource extraction and emissions — to drop the responsibilityto x (or adapt to) the climate crisis in their young laps.

This is again a great point but WHat exactly is getting in the way of our actions? What is making is drop these new ways of adaptation, is there a way we can change that?

    6. Teaching this to an 18 year old is like telling them that they have cancer, then ushering themout the door, saying "sorry, good luck with that."

This is a good point but How can we change this for our good? How can we change how to approach this topic, its very important to the point we cannot brush past the problem anymore.

    7. However, it is clear to me now that teaching young people about these crises without acohesive, science-informed institutional and cultural framework of climate-literatesupport does them more harm than good.

Why is this a problme, why is educating students a harmful act?
