    1. Every student is expected to read the same book at the same pace, listen to the same lectures, and complete the same math problems using the same materials. These inflexible solutions expect compliance and favor students who don’t face significant barriers to traditional learning.

I think this analogy is a great way to show how all students learn differently. Growing up, I have always noticed that all students have different learning styles but the different learning styles are not always options in classes. Despite a students preferred learning style, all students are expected to learn the same way which can have a negative impact on a student's learning. I think it is crucial that a variety of different learning styles are incorporated into classrooms in order to meet the needs of all students which will give every student an equal access to learning.

    1. Schools that rely on remote learning during the pandemic are trying to ensure that all kids have the devices and internet bandwidth they need. While important, it takes more than everyone having comparable equipment and working WiFi for all children to get an equal shot.

This was definitely one of the biggest problems when the pandemic hit. With the transition to remote learning, it was so important that all students had accessible devices in order for everyone to have an equal learning experience. For students who were unable to have access to the proper devices needed for remote learning, their learning could have been severely impacted. I think that it is so important that teachers are able to understand and help students who may not have the right devices needed for remote learning. It is also important for everyone to understand that this is new for everyone and with proper help, the right accommodations can be made in order to assure that all students have an equal learning experience.

    1. For instance, at the assignment level, flexible deadlines and student-designed assignments and student choice about how to complete assignments are solid ways of practicing "designing for flexibility."

I think flexibility is important but can also be challenging for people, including myself. Having flexible deadlines can take away a lot of stress on students, especially while in college. On the other hand, I do find that having strict deadlines helps myself keep up with coursework. Sometimes I find myself pushing assignments till the last minute if there isn't a specific deadline for an assignment outlined which I believe is one of the biggest challenges of flexibility. Although this can be hard for some, I think that flexible deadlines do help students in many ways other than creating a stress-free environment. For example, flexible deadlines can teach people many skills such as time management, organization, and discipline.

    1. They acquire knowledge and skills by communicating with peers, engaging in group activities, and sharing their thoughts and getting feedback.

I believe this is one of the most important parts of learning. For myself, I find that I learn best when I am able to communicate with my peers and complete group work. This allows students to communicate their own thoughts and ideas as well as hear what others think. Collaborating also helps with communication and working through different topics together which is key to effective learning.

    1. As a result, teachers who choose a variety of assistive technologies for their classrooms may want to ensure that students and parents are fully aware of any privacy or security issues that could arise.

I think that this is so important. Being aware of the different privacy or security issues that may arise when using different technologies is something that everyone should be aware of in order to be safe. We have learned that not all tools are safe and there are many times where passwords and personal information can be stolen. Also, students may not actually fully research the privacy of a website so having a parent also research the tool/site can help ensure that all information will be safe.

    1. However, many digital tools and apps are not designed with accessibility in mind, and introducing a new digital tool in your classroom that is not accessible can be a barrier to learning.

After learning how to evaluate different digital tools and apps, I have realized that there are many tools out there that are not easily assessable for all learners. It is extremely important to evaluate all digital tools before incorporating them into a classroom in order to make sure that all students are able to access the tool and use it to enhance learning. There are a variety of tools nowadays that are able to successfully be used in classrooms in order to help improve each and every students learning.

    2. 1: Less is More

I completely agree with the statement that less is more. Growing up, I have always learned that when creating powerpoint presentations you should always include minimal words on each slide. This can apply to any type of presentation as well. Having too much information or too much going on (too many graphics, words, pictures) can cause readers to become less attentive. It is harder for people to understand the information you are trying to present if they are focused on reading all the words or looking at the different graphics. I think it is much better and effective to keep both words and images to a minimum in order to successfully present your creations.

    1. Engage in thoughtful conversations about your practice

It is important to engage in conversations with others when talking about your individual practice. Not only are you able to share everything you have learned and created but you are able to help educate others about your practice and receive input and new ideas that could benefit you.
