Instead of asking them to define things and write an essay, can we give them a hypothetical of a salt with non-ideal vant hoff factor and ask them to describe why it is nonideal at that concentration? like a sulfate or phosphate salt for ion-pairing

Should they assume a van't hoff factor of 1? I think they'll be confused
