      Is this saying that their academic identity changes over time -- going back to being Multifaceted do their identities change based on the perspective of a situation they are looking at ??

      The negotiation of academic identity for non-native English researchers involves a delicate balance between their self-perception, linguistic limitations, and the advantages provided by AI tools. This process is inherently complex and encompasses not only the practical aspects of writing and publishing but also potential issues related to self-worth, professional identity, and peer perception within the scholarly community

      Yes using AI for non-native English speakers can be useful but it also starts raising questions about the authenticy behind your work. While using AI people should always be careful of maintaining their "academic identity." Take Grammarly for example, yes its helps plenty with grammar and punctuation.. But there are also so many cases where they will reccommend basically rewriting/rewording an entire sentence. And in my opinion that takes away the personal aspect of the writing

      I think this is trying to say that AI can be explored in a connotation but we are so caught up in trying to detect the usage of AI that we arent using it to its full potential (and how it can benefit us)

      For non-native English researchers, especially, ChatGPT promises to mitigate linguistic disadvantage by improving grammatical accuracy, coherence, and fluency (Gomes et al., 2023; Sok and Heng, 2023), thus potentially leveling the playing field in the global research arena.

      ChatGPT can help "level the playing field" for non-native english speakers to write better when trying to share their work publicly - however I believe this will only put their opportunity to fully learn and engage with the writing themselves. Having it translated from Chat would take away the authenticity behind their work and wont translate the same?
