    1. This may be because human bodies are genetically made to reproduce.

I like this point and connection you made on how the reason why relationships rule our lives is because our biological purpose and function is to reproduce. But not only do we reproduce, we do several other things that make relationships messy, as you said. Not only does the scene with the Grandparents mean multiple things are bound to occur but this moves the book forward and keeps us guessing on what is going to happen next. Asking the question, does love outweigh the outfall of relations we have with people and I think it all depends on the person you ask and how important those relationships are to that specific person.

    1. I also think that the quote you chose to put in this post is highly debatable and interesting. To say that genes are not important is frankly a very ballsy thing to say. Genes have formed and shaped human beings as we know them. Genes have caused very bad and good things to happen to humans. Not only have genes shaped humans, they have shaped pretty much every organism that has ever existed. It shapes your looks, your well being, whether you have high or low blood pressure, genes are highly important, but I think that genes are most definitely a portion of what a human becomes.

    2. I think it is interesting when you said that it seem sthat the increase peers awakened resuted in both pairing and increased conflict. I find this interesting because I think that thhis is what happens in our world as well. Often we find that other person that we want to "mate " with and this can cause a lot more problems that people probably expect. I said the same thing in my blog post, that relationships between humans form and pursuade humans entirely. The relationships between the humans in the book greatly influence their actions and completely change the entire book at the end.

    1. The hierarchies quote that is already highlighted in your blog post also makes me think deeper into what kind of role hierarchies play in our world. Do you really think that the hierarchial mindset has resulted in plenty of mistakes? Sure, maybe it has resulted in some mistakes but I don't think that it has resulted in more mistakes then beneficial things. I also agree with you that people will not give up their place on top of the Earth's food chain because they are usually the most wealthy and successful people in the world. I know I would not give up my spot there, that is certain.

    2. I really like what you said about how we live in a world of hierarchies. I never really thought of that even though it is very obvious. I am interested in your point that you made about how humans who have always functioned as rigid in their genetic code (sort of). I find this interesting because I would have to somewhat disagree with the point because I don't think that that is necessarily always true. I disagree with this because not all of the "genetically strongest" humans are the most successful and most powerful in life. There have been plenty of people that are not the most genetically blessed and have been plenty successful.

    1. First, watching a television that you can speak to and give commands is one of these technology changes that he adapts to.  Because of calling in to the TV shows, the news has covered a story about him, about his presence back in town and how he hasn’t changed.

I think you make a good point here. I actually did not pick this up when I first read the comic book. I agree with you that this is one of the technology changes that he adapts to but I thought it was just television in general for him. I think that this could also be a huge television adaptation for anyone in any world or time. I also like how you put the quote, "I became the news," I like that you put this in your blog because I think that this sort of shows a emotional part of Spider Jerusalem and possibly he could have been like, "Oh shit, I'm the news from watching the news."

    1. but also shows how the world in this graphic novel has similarities to our world in regards to evi

I think that you make a really good point here. Our world as we know it can be a very evil place. I like how you mentioned the violence going on in our modern world because I think the book is, like you said, familiar to situations that have recurred in our world. I also like how you mentioned addiction because I consider this to be a source of evil that is not necessarily, to me, human created. I know that it's humans that have addictions but it can be genetic and out of that persons control entirely. I think that Spider Jerusalem's world could potentially become our world because addiction is so prominent.
