the long lens of history suggests that even hugely disruptive technological developments will eventually become normalized and fully accepted.
Both of these versions has its own way of explaining both points they are trying to get across. Both essays have the same idea just different ways of organizing. Version 2 way of ending his essay is more explained and not just simple ending
-
Since the dawn of time, technology has constantly changed.
Version 1 starts off with a statement that is not only relatable to the audience but is also very true. A good way to grasp my attention with something I agree on and understand
-
. In Plato’s dialogue Phaedrus, his mentor Socrates stated that “The written word will create forgetfulness in the learners' souls because they will not use their memories."
When giving this example, version 1 states what Plato's dialogue says and then leaves it at that. In version 2, the essay also states Plato's dialogue, but it also follows with why we should understand how their communication work back in their time.

Emerging new technologies have almost always led to controversies and unease about how they might affect society and people.
When comparing both intros of these essays, versions 2 is way more passionate about his opinion on technology. Also his context is more thorough and more appealing

. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life, and it is the main obstacle between you and a shitty first draft. . . .
I agree with this statement, this applies to many other things than just writing itself. I found myself a lot happier in life when I stopped focusing on making everything perfect, taking day by day and going with the flow made my life easier
-
In fact, the only way I can get anything written at all is to write really, really shitty first drafts.
when the author says this, to me this is proving his point that he highly agrees that writing shotty first drafts is the way to go based on his personal experiences

Add a distinctive voice to your writing through your use of tone, syntax, flow
this reminds me of when back in middle and high school they always told us "Put a little extra sound effect or word sounds" indicating that it might add a little flavor to your writing
-
As the great educational sociologist David Labaree has observed, “Writing is not just how we express our ideas; it’s how we develop our ideas.
Seeing how the author talks about david's way of writing shows how he agrees with all of his statements
-
Step 2: The preparation stage.
I feel like this is a very important step to know when you are writing. From personal experience I have had trouble writing an essay because i don't know much knowledge about my topic
-
Writing requires you to totally immerse yourself in the thinking and rethinking process
This is true because when I write, I have to complicate my mind and dissect ideas to make my essay make sense. However, sometimes even when I do the most, it still is not enough causing me to rethink and break down my essay even more
-
I write to think.
I believe this statement is important because the authors beliefs are based on his experiences and his personal process with writing. He writes to think and that very much supports how thesis of the article.
-
Writing is not merely a mode of communication. It’s a process that, if we move beyond simple formulas, forces us to reflect, think, analyze and reason
This statement stood out to me because it states how writing is more than just a form of expression. Its more complex meaning it forces us to analyze different things when we're writing.
