Do you like everybody? CHRISTINA: Yes.
Again.. another indication in my mind of this individual not exercising independent thought!

Etes-vous externe ou demi-pensionnaire? La cuisine de votre cantine est-elle bonne, passable ou mauvaise?
Are you an external or half boarder? Is the food in your canteen good, fair or bad?
Est-ce que votre professeur interroge souvant les eleves?
Does your teacher often question the students?
not in the body ... a spiritual lubricant ... it's hard to describe ... and without it, life is a nightmare, andeverything is distorted.—A black cat started coming to my kitchen. He's awfully mangled and big. He is missing aneye and his skin is diseased. At first I was repelled by him, but then, I thought, this is a monster that has been sentto me and I must feed him. And I fed him. One day he came and shat all over my kitchen. Foul diarrhea. He stillcomes and I still feed him.—I am afraid of him.
Is this spriitual lubciricanr....is this about doign good things without any good things ahppening n return, of life beign fundamentally unfair, about life involving things we do not like ehcen we need faith to allow us to survive.
If yourfaith is not entirely in it, if you just perform as an obligation and you don't feel the most profound devotion, if yourspirit, your heart, and your flesh is not religiously delivered to it, you are condemned. They put you down in theblack list and you don't go to heaven. Heaven is populated with divine lovers. And in hell live the duds
Like Fefu, Emma has this capacity to judge roles in marriage and women's sexuality - do we have sex for God? For religious reaons? Does women's morality depend on them exercising the act of sex as a form of devotion to God? Have we compeltely lost ourselves and interest.... on some level when ir ead this, I assumed it meant obligation in marriage and was a statement about women have facades where they conduct acts based on obligation rather than profound devotion to the other person (with marriage interwtwined with faith, hence the language would make sense) but the idea of flesh being religiously delivered was something that unnerved me.
I mean, how can business men and women stand in a room and discuss business without even one reference totheir genitals. I mean everybody has them. They just pretend they don't
codes of propriety have dissapeared. - agaiin interestign with symbolism of the fruit. There is an interest in sexuality and women's place and gender -women are loathesome and genetials are pretended not to exist....
It wasn't important.
reveals degree of inonsistency in confidence
Hey, my toilet works.
symbolism of this...?
Well, the hunter aimed ... at the deer. He shot.
Symbolism....
Still I would like it if you liked me.
These competing values -the sharp contradictions in character. How is someone who is tactless and admits it as well as does what she wants, says things to disturb the water, care to be liked?
We always go to extremes
Makes me consider the ways couples push the envelope to keep things interesting
I did. The water stopper didn't work. It drained. I adjusted it. I'm waiting for the tank to fill up. Make sure it allworks.
Her independence and autonomy manifests in a variety of ways
No matterwhere he is, he falls.
Power dynamics in this relationship? What does this little game tell.... he also has a playfulness to him and hence his comment maybe should not be taken so seriously.
Christina and Cindy scream. Fefu smiles proudly.
The contrast in their reactions - what revolts; what scares; the uncontained actions; spontaneoity of fefu.... also the choice of names - christina and cindy are indistinguishable to me
I'll have some fried worms with lots of pepper.
This is interesting..... particularly in that these women can be influenced by each other
it eats you. That is my opinion. Well, who is ready for lunch?
The parallel, this line of thread which laces it - seems to imply that these people are the ones who are revolting....
t's a hideous thought. FEFU: I take it all back.
Notice how quick she is to take back her ideas - this is a woman who thinks, a woman who has a lack of filter and with a sense of humour and to disturb the waters a bit seeks to challenge people into introspection. But when she says she will take it all back it almost implies that she is not necessarily strong in her convinctions
No
Her surprising almost apathetic response - degredation of integrity of marriage and we see this in the idyllic house. Also interesting that she is standing and everyone else is sitting down - seems to imply a forward motion for her character whereas everyone else is fitting in and lingering in their landscape
My husband married me to have a constant reminder of how loathsome women are.
The domestic sphere is really emphasized and the roles women play within this sets of the scene
he audience is divided into four groups. Eachgroup is led to the spaces. These scenes are performed simultaneously. When the scenes are completed theaudience moves to the next space and the scenes are performed again. This is repeated four times until eachgroup has seen all four scenes.
How does the order of viewing the scenes affect the plot?
