This allows students to be producers as well as consumers, to have a hand in the creation of content that may have future uses and iterations.

Inclusion of student work in a syllabus is indeed a radical act because the syllabus has traditionally been a catalog of primary and secondary works that the students are being introduced to, something beyond them. Including student work in the syllabus authorizes students to themselves be authorities on a subject, at least within the confines of a course.
