    1. This Mishna seems to be laying out a framework for all of Bava Kama, which is interesting. It's interesting because of the ambition, but the Gemara seems to play along.

    1. יֵשׁ מֵהֶן כַּיּוֹצֵא בָּהֶן

Why draw attention to the similarities if the immediate following paragraphs only discuss things which differ? Each subcategory remains separate, and I'm not sure I get it.

    2. אַרְבָּעָה

This the core of this Daf, perhaps the whole Mishna. Possibly even setting the structure likely for the whole masekhet.

    1. make expiation for the whole community and they would be forgiven.

This provides a prooftext justifying the use of first person plural commonly found in the Jewish liturgy.

This fiction-first orientation mirrors what you see in other systems such as Fate and its derivatives. Additionally, the idea of resolving issues with the mechanics is almost an homage to Rugby's notion of "set play" (such as lineouts and scrums) to restart play in case of stoppage.

    1. A decision table is a means of concisely representing branching and conditional computations.

This is a nice, concise definition and I've used it in several places. I find it superior to the one offered by the Decision Tables article on Wikipedia.
