    1. I would immediately be turned off. Why? Because part of being an engineer (or any employee really) is doing a bunch of stuff people don't enjoy doing.

The fact that cletus thinks that "interesting or meaningful work" precludes writing docs and tests, fixing bugs, and coordinating with other people really says something about cletus (and how excruciating it probably is to work with them) more than it says about anyone else.

Fuck cletus, and fuck any every other presumptuous fucking shithead who, upon having to interact with someone, thinks to themselves, "Well, I know that that I'm a piece of shit, so obviously means that everyone else is, too, and I better protect myself from people like me."

This can be totally true and still be a problem completely with you.

    3. I suspect dealing with this type of person would become a huge issue. This work request hints at overblown entitlement.

Working for $5 an hour with the only condition being that you demonstrate some diligence by making sure that the work you're asking for is actually meaningful? This is "entitlement"? Yeah, okay. Look into a reality check, shithead, and in the meantime, go fuck yourself.
