This article describes sequencing and analysis of the two type I-E CRISPR system repeat arrays in E. coli K-12. The arrays are found on Escherichia coli K-12 substr. MG1655 reference sequence U00096.3 at positions 2877884-2878463 and 2904013-2904408, between the iap and ygbF(cas2). A part of the first array had been noted previously by these authors two years earlier (PMID:3316184), and discussed in the final paragraph of that paper.
