We have recently shown that acute inhibition of the steroid sulfatase enzyme in new mouse mothers results in increased brain expression of the Nov/Ccn3 gene; as there is some evidence for the extracellular CCN3 protein interacting with integrin B1, I wondered whether the authors had, or had considered, looking at CCN3 levels in their cellular model?
