Conjugate Acid-Base Pairs
With this being the way my "Chemistry for Dummies" book explains acid base pairs that would mean that the conjugate base to the acid HF would be F-1. Is that how it works or would F-1 have to be in a compound to be counted as a conjugate base?

Is this simply a statement you are telling us or is this something we need to familiarize ourself with? I do not completely understand the idea. Is there anyway you could explain it further or do I need to try to come up with a different question that would allow you to understand why I am lost?
