    1. In the online classroom, all disabilities – whether readily evident or not – are in fact invisible and hidden.

I've never thought of it this way before, but it's so true! This is one of the greatest deficits with online learning. Aside from the loss of social presence, it's hard to monitor and support disabilities without real, intentional listening and support.

Today’sstudents are tech-savvy, multi-taskers, and digitally literate, thus favor and feel morecomfortable towards innovated and stimulating teaching styles encompassing the latesttechnology in the classroom (Webb & Doman, 2020). As a result, this places pressureon higher academic institutes to rethink traditional approaches to education

This approach is respectful and warm

    2. Unlike traditional mentors, educative mentors value novices’ voices as much as their own expertise. Educative mentors are focused on teachers’ growth as opposed to merely acclimating their new colleague to the setting (Wexler, 2020), and educative mentoring relationships tend to continue across time

I had a mentor like this when I first started teaching. But shouldn't all good mentors value the novice's voice and contributions?

    1. When they blow up andrelease a beach ball into the crowd, the collective effort ofthe crowd is to keep the beach ball (in our case, the idea)in the air for as long as possible to see where it ends up.The objective of skeet shooting, on the other hand, is todestroy ideas as quickly as possible. We think beach ball-ing is an appropriate analogy for the practice of eclecticinstructional design

I love this analogy! The idea is to be responsive, agile, and keep focused on the goal together.

    2. This is a great summary of the 4 main Learning Theories.

    3. This means that to design creative instructionalsystems, one must look to other domains (engineering, medicine, computer science, marketing, etc.) for inspira-tion. This growth in content to annotate and talk about is awesome!
