    1. all but the few girls whispering by the fence. And now I am listening hard in the grandiose silence of the snow, trying to hear what those three girls are plotting, what riot is afoot, which small queen is about to be brought down.

      I feel as if the gilr represents a world power country and that the leader/people of thi country are paranoid of other countries people. And this paranoia is transffered in these metaphors

In a while, I will put on some boots and step out like someone walking in water, and the dog will porpoise through the drifts, and I will shake a laden branch sending a cold shower down on us both. But for now I am a willing prisoner in this house, a sympathizer with the anarchic cause of snow.

      This whole section reminded me of what they would call a baptism of fire, like a ice phoenix we must first bath the world in snow before it can be reborn as something better. Snow is water and water purifies all.

      I think this metaphor is beautiful. It reminds of a sort o numb freedom as snow is often a cause of being numb. Similarily to how some books write of a darkness that is a sort of comfortable darkness, a comfrotable cold
