We do not mean to suggest that we are moving,as a field, to one grand unified theor
cognitive learning theory assumes that the learning process is an active, strategic process of information processing. It emphasizes the interactivity between learners' new knowledge and cognitive structure, attaching importance to the development of learners' cognitive ability, autonomy. In addition, cognitive learning theory emphasizes the development of learners' cognitive ability, autonomy and creative thinking, and closely integrates theory and teaching activities. Unlike cognitive learning theory, sociocultural theory views individual learning as a process of constructing knowledge. It believes that the mental activities of individuals are closely related to culture, historical background and customs. Knowledge and learning cannot be separated from a certain socio-cultural context, and knowledge comes from and ultimately serves social theoretical activities. It gives priority to the interactive behavior between the individual and the social environment, the influence of the cultural context on cognition, the contrast between the native language and the target language of learning, and some other key processes. Finally, the authors' formulation “grand unified theory” impressed me, which also provides us with a new theoretical perspective.
