    1. Often, kids with teen depression will have a noticeable change in their thinking and behavior. They may have no motivation and even become withdrawn, closing their bedroom door after school and staying in their room for hours.

      meaning that teens with depression usually hide theirselves away from everyone exclude theirselves from daily activities or even a daily routine.

    2. There are multiple reasons why a teenager might become depressed. For example, teens can develop feelings of worthlessness and inadequacy over their grades. School performance, social status with peers, sexual orientation, or family life can each have a major effect on how a teen feels. Sometimes, teen depression may result from environmental stress.

      teens stress now and days can really be over anything now a day people have too much pride ti admitt their status. so the just hide their emotions.

      meaning that people that easily gets depressed it could be mental or chemically something wrong with their brain

When things go wrong at school or at home, teens often overreact. Many young people feel that life is not fair or that things "never go their way." They feel "stressed out" and confused.       some teens cant handle rejection well especially when its something they really want to do. and then matters only gets worse when they have to respond to their friend.

Drugs like ecstasy and other club-drug uppers may even make them feel "normal" when for weeks they have felt miserable. The impact of such drugs on serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins, chemicals in the brain that regulate mood, can be devastating for children and adolescents.

      teens will try anything to help them escape the feeling of being hopeless or alone and just stressed.

      as teens get depressed they do a number of things and one of those things is drugs and they abuse it and end up with a serious disorder which can ruin their health

      some people can just inherit depression like they were just born depressed.

      teens that suffer from depression cant really get through it on their own. they need someone there for them or they might consider doing something they regret.

      depression can really effect teens lifestyle and behavior. also it can come in disturbance with their knowledge and intelligence.

In major depressive disorder—the most familiar form of depression—the cluster of symptoms that define depression occur in what may be severe episodes that tend to last from seven to nine months.  But there is also another form of depression called dysthymic disorder, in which the symptoms are milder, but they last longer, measured in years.

      theres two different types of depression one depression which is a major would cause you to go through it for months but theres another type which is called dysthymic disorder which symptoms of regular depression are more major then ever.

    2. In adolescent depression, the thing people tend to notice first is withdrawal, or when the teenager stops doing things she usually likes to do. There might be other changes in her mood, including sadness or irritability. Or in her behavior, including, appetite, energy level, sleep patterns and academic performance.

      signs of teen depression would be a change in behavior maybe a change in her daily routine a change in her mood and it can make someone feel empty inside.

      girl are more likely to be born with a mood disorder during they younger years its only at even level between boys and girl which is like 5% but after they become a teen they are more likely to be mood disorder on an adult level which is 14 to 20%

    1. Although schools can now get six cents more per lunch to help cover the cost of more fruits, vegetables and whole grains to meet new requirements, the increase doesn’t cover all the changes, she notes.

      they gave the schools a little bit more money for fresher foods and vegetables and bread but thats the only thing that was able to be covered. so like the meats are the same and the fast food products are the same and many more.

    1. Food begins to lose nutrition as soon as it is harvested.

      the longer it takes to travel from the time its picked from the soil/root the less nutrition its likely to keep.

    2. obviously fresher foods that are grown on better soils are going to have more nutrients. But people are not nutrient-deprived.

      fresher foods will have a better affect on people due to people not really having that basic material.

    3. 00-mile diet — even in winter — was almost certainly more nutritious than what the average American was eating. That doesn’t mean it is necessary to eat locally in order to be healthy.

      locavore movement is a healty way of eating foods but you dont neccesarily have you eat locally. its all about smart choices.
