    1. 07:30 Wow, interesting point: The people back then struggled with the question of how to depict prophetic and divine figures. How to do that? Certain anxieties underlying this.

08:30 A week before the incident, Lopez showed art in India and of the Buddha and so on. A whole course on how the divine is presented, and struggled with, in different regions and cultures, other than the West (an Eurocentric view).

    1. unstable, destabilized, degenerative world

I have been shown in medicine that extinction is an act of Divine Love. Unstable, destable and degenertaive are all aspects of death and new life Can we find a way to position instability as an evolutionary process?

    1. According to scholia on Euripides, Icarus thought himself greater than Helios, the Sun himself, and the god punished him by directing his powerful rays at him, melting the beeswax. Afterwards, it was Helios who named the Icarian Sea after Icarus.[10]

Was Icarus punished by the gods because he thought himself greater than them (Helios)?

    1. Instead, he lauds the figure of themarket as a knowing entity, envisioning it as a kind of processor of socialinformation that, through the mechanism of price, continuously calcu-lates and communicates current economic conditions to individuals inthe market.

Is it possible that in this paper we'll see the beginning of a shift from Adam Smith's "invisible hand" (of Divine Providence, or God) to a somewhat more scientifically based mechanism based on information theory?

Could communication described here be similar to that of a fungal colony seeking out food across gradients? It's based in statistical mechanics of exploring a space, but looks like divine providence or even magic to those lacking the mechanism?

    1. Whenever Israel disobeys God, and is accused of misdemeanors by the angels of the other nations, he is defended by his designated guardians, with such good result that the other angels conceive fear of them.

The angels of other nations accuse Israel. This relates to the allotment of angels over other nations mentioned in Deuteronomy 32:8. What is especially interesting is how this broadens the view from the Devil alone being Israel's accuser to it being all the angels of the other nations, who were viewed by their people as the gods of those nations.

    1. His favorite example to illustrate thecontingency of this process is Nicholas of Cusa’s spoon-maker (the corre-sponding note card would have been struck through in red many times). In1450, he draws his self-esteem from his technical creation, the carved-woodspoon. The spoon is a genuinely creative product in that it does not have aprecedent in nature—but making the spoon is a creative process only inimitation of divine creativity.

Another level of creativity above and beyond Demis Hassabis' three levels of creativity is that of divine creativity (or creativity ex nihilo). Perhaps Hassabis' poorly defined third type might aspire to this divine creativity in the limit?

    1. itis necessary for the sovereign to conduct his business himself, because he will, if he is wise, pursue only the public interest, which is his own

Here, Frederick seems to be touching on a key concept of absolutist thought: that the sovereign is the state. In some ways, this seems a natural evolution from the earlier concept of divine right (the sovereign as chosen by God). If the sovereign really is divinely chosen, who else is better qualified to dictate policy or to know what is best for their people?

Today, Frederick is considered an enlightened absolutist (a position he shares with Catherine the Great of Russia and Maria Theresa of Austria). These rulers were absolute monarchs who tried to apply the principles of the Enlightenment in their rule for the betterment of their subjects.

    1. Many terms have been independently coined multiple times – although not necessarily with precisely the same meaning, and this is true of “transhumanism.” In 1312, in his Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri uses the term transumanare, meaning to pass beyond the human, but his usage was religious or spiritual in nature.

As I understand transhumanism comes to contrast religious beliefs. It seems to want all the attention of what mankind has done up until our time, giving no credit to "god".

    1. Do not misunderstand me. To know Who You Are, What You Are, and that You Are Where It’s All Happening is, indeed, Divine Fulfillment of Purpose. It is to be One with God. It is to flow with the Divine Energies. It is to be One and in Harmony with the Great Works of Divine Intelligence. BUT, IT IS ABSOLUTELY NORMAL!

It is incredible yet simply as it is....

    2. I cannot make myself any clearer than to say: Paul, do not waste your time with heady trips of greatness, of holiness, of grand purpose, of fulfilling a Divine Purpose in the universal scheme of things that is outside or other than “simply existing.“ Existence is all of those things, but it is nothing “special.“ It is only by comparison with ignorance that that which is “normal” can seem special, and you will weaken yourself greatly if you indulge in such nonsense! This had better be a fundamental point in your awareness of what is happening here, or you will lose the Value.

"It's no big deal" so to speak, it's all happening at once, always has been, it's not special, it's just becoming conscious of what is truly true always...

    1. Food begins to lose nutrition as soon as it is harvested.

the longer it takes to travel from the time its picked from the soil/root the less nutrition its likely to keep.

    2. obviously fresher foods that are grown on better soils are going to have more nutrients. But people are not nutrient-deprived.

fresher foods will have a better affect on people due to people not really having that basic material.

    3. 00-mile diet — even in winter — was almost certainly more nutritious than what the average American was eating. That doesn’t mean it is necessary to eat locally in order to be healthy.

locavore movement is a healty way of eating foods but you dont neccesarily have you eat locally. its all about smart choices.

    1. RAJ: That is a wise approach. it is only as you are fulfilling the Purpose of your Being that true progress can be made—not by attempting to fulfill the intellectually-developed ideas and concepts which you have come up with.

    1. The Fourth Dimension is the Governing dimension, as you are beginning to discern. There is only one thing going on, and every aspect of that one thing is perfectly harmonizing—literally the Music of the Spheres in concert—in the unfoldment of Divine Purpose.

      It's all happening at once.

    1. Existing as a material being in a three-dimensional environment is exciting, challenging, scary, but never Satisfying because it is literally to live as though One is out of One’s Mind. It is not the ultimate purpose of Man, or Being.

    1. The eloquent divine, then, when he is urging a practical truth, must not only teach so as to give instruction, and please so as to keep up the attention, but he must also sway the mind so as to subdue the will. For if a man be not moved by the force of truth, though it is demonstrated to his own confession, and clothed in beauty of style, nothing remains but to subdue him by the power of eloquence.

It's interesting that he links the divine or persuasion of the spirit with rhetorical persuasion

    2. But an intelligent reader will not be so much instructed by carefully analysing it as kindled by reciting it with spirit. Nor was it composed by man's art and care, but it flowed forth in wisdom and eloquence from the Divine mind; wisdom not aiming at eloquence, yet eloquence not shrinking from wisdo

rhetoric linked directly to God and the divine as users and shapers of rhetoric
