      This is a very important statement. I think that people do not think about this when they are working on a project, or when they assign a project. Collaboration is when people work together on the same project, or the same idea, and cooperation is when people help someone else's goal. The goal is not theirs, but they support is and can provide help

    1. Today’s social media and web-based communities provide unprecedented opportunities for caring adults, teachers, parents, learners and their peers to share interests and contribute to a common purpose.

      This makes it easier for a student to grow in their passions when they have someone that also has that passion that can help them along. When students know other people care about the same things they do, it encourages them to continue pursuing that.

    1. A student presenting research on the 14th Amendment, to continue our example, might create his or her own unique graphic organizer for the class that not only includes the usual multimedia resources but represents a new product or synthesis of existing material.

      When students can make things themselves, they understand it more. Also, if it is put into the words of someone who hasn't been studying it for a long time, it can help other people learn the information. A graphic organizer is a good way to explain information that could be foreign to a student.

      This is something that all educators should be aware of and focus on in the classroom. If we do not give our students chances to find what they are really interested in or passionate about, we cannot be as successful as they could be.
