    1. se the illustrations and details in a text to describe its key id

an example of this would to descirbe the illistrations in" brown bear brown bear what do you see"in kindergarten or even pre school.

    6. Ask and answer questions about unknown

This is another skill that I feel as if is so important for all children to be able to do. I think that asking questions in life iss so important inside and outside of the classroom. I feel this way becuase I feel as if if you dont ask questions you dont learn. Therefore asking questions about unknown words in text is so important because it will help you expand your vocabulary and higher your reading level.

    7. With prompting and support, identify characters, settings, and major events in a story.

I feel as if this is really important for all children to be able to do even starting at a young age like kindergarten. This skill is somehting all children should be able to do and complete becuase identifying characters, settings, and major events in a story is the first step in completing more complex comprehension questions that will be needed to complete in blooms taxonomy.

    1. Anders

Anders is a very interesting main character and is much different from other characters that I have encountered in books and movies

    2. Bullet in the Brain

was forshadowing used in the title?

    3. Time for the shadows to lengthen on the grass, time for the tethered dog to bark at the flying ball, time for the boy in right field to smack his sweat-blackened mitt and softly chant, They is, they is, they is.

I didnt really understand the ending of this short story, and wonder why it ended the way it did?

    4. erebral cortex, the corpus callosum, back toward the basal ganglia, and down into the thalamus.

Diction was used tremendously in this short story. The author decribed the brain by using actual terms to show the importance of what is happening in the story.

    5. What’s so funny, bright boy?”

This shows that Anders continues to be a very sarcastic charaacter and doesnt tend to take things seriously even in a life or death situation.

    6. She looked at him with drowning eyes

Saying "drowning eyes" is very good word choice and helps the reader see the story better as a image. It shows how nervous she is in the story and feels as if theyre may not be a way out.

    7. “Unforgivable,” Anders said. “Heaven will take note.”

I feel as if this is forshadowing, and that Anders may go to heaven by the end of the short story.

    1. They have eaten me alive.

I feel as if this shows the birth of her child has been a very stressful time in her life becuase of the fact that the father of the child left her and she has struggled.

    2. , rehearsing

why would she be rehearsing the "childrens names and birthdays"?

    3. Someone she loved once passed by – too late

I feel as if this shows that her husband or the father of her child left her at a early stage in the childs life. I feel as if this is very important to note becuase i feel as if since the father of her child may have left it could be the reason she is stresssed and why her clothes are "out of date".

    4. she says to his departing smile

Whos is the author referring to when she says "his departing smile"? Could it be the father of her child that she wacthes play in the park? Maybe she says "departing smile" becuase he is not always around to help her out with her child.

    1. Long Silence

Maybe this is indicating the poem to be about a long time of waiting for something to happen

    2. ou can follow the broken hearts their hooves punch in its crust. Night after night the big plows rumble and bale it like dirty laundry

I feel that the tone changes throughout the poem. I feel as if this is one of the first shifting points in the poem. I feel that at the beginning of the poem the tone was calm, however I feel that it shifts into a more broken and sad tone.

    1. kept waiting for the thud of your crash as I sprinted to catch up

The parent wants their daughter to grow up and go through new experiences, however they are hoping that they will come back for guidance and support.

    2. my own mouth rounding in surprise when you pulled

The parent seems to have very mixed feelings and emotions. I feel as id the mother is happy yet so nervous at the same time that their daughter is growing up.

    1. The gears start to tick through every room of that house

I am confused on the ending of the poem. I was wondering if all the different rooms in the house are important aspects to the poem?

    2. the way water fills a bath into which an exhausted man lowers himself, not wanting to rise.

I feel as if this is a very powerful part of the poem. I feel this way because I feel as if the author is trying to show how fast time goes by and is portraying that by comparing time with a bath tub filling up. Also I feel as if this part of the poem is showing that over time people become drained and tired
