In trying to create texts that do not “privilege” any one order of reading or interpretive framework, the postmodernists are privileging confusion itself. The indeterminate structure of these hypertexts frustrates our desire for narrational agency, for using the act of navigation to unfold a story that flows from our own meaningful choices.
I never even thought about this, how convenient those links are, and how much we appreciate them. At the same time, these links do draw attention to a certain "path" of interpretation. This seems like such a small thing that we actually appreciate because of our sense of agency.

This intrigues me because I always felt like reading something automatically came with the freedom of interpretation, but at the same time what the author chooses to include/exclude guides that interpretation for the most part.
