Then much of the campus attention moved on.
College rape culture is too set in stone. There's a way of doing things that doesn't help prevent future incidents and people just "move on" without addressing the systemic problems that allow it to continue. In hundreds of cases the same script plays out both in colleges and in public life.
Colleges and their surrounding cultures need to dramatically change the script to prevent these incidences. Accountability is the watchword.
