I agree with this statement, and I believe that the player doesn't have any of the power as an author. Even if a game is very interactive and the player is making a lot of their own choices that lead to different outcomes, those are all still things that were put into the game by the developers. Because of this, the player is still just following the rules set by the developers, but they have more autonomy in which path they want to take.

I feel that a reader has to be committed and focused on the piece of writing they are reading in order for them to fully understand the perspective and context from which the author is coming from.
