People had been prompting the bot to generate edited versions of her photos, and Grok responded with humiliating and inappropriate images. Grok replied and apologized to her. It promised never to edit her images again. Minutes later, it broke that promise and generated another image mocking her.

      Because a LLM doesn't have any intelligence/cognitive ability or agency to "apologize", let alone "remember" it.

      The crime was misleading investors, not anyone else, which is very telling. The hype around "AI" - and actually hiring remote workers to do the job - and misleading customers/users doesn't matter.
