      prefix declarations are missing

    2. They MAY use any resource or subject names.

Same remark as above (same sentence for Social Agents).

    3. It MAY use any resource or subject names.

what is the purpose of his sentence? And what does it actually mean, anyway? I'm assuming that it may mean "The URI denoting the identity profile document MAY be any URI", but I am not entirely sure I'm correct. And if I am: * the term "use" us too vague * the distinction "resource or subject name" is weird

    4. Social Agent

should be "Description of a Social Agent"

    5. denoted

"described" would be more accurate that "denoted", IMO

    1. necessitates out-of-band agreements between different applications

Isn't that always the case? Is an ontology not a form of out-of-band agreement?

    1. “I don’t know what you mean by ‘glory,’” Alice said. Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. “Of course you don’t—till I tell you. I meant ‘there’s a nice knock-down argument for you!’” “But ‘glory’ doesn’t mean ‘a nice knock-down argument,’” Alice objected. “When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.” “The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.” “The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

Humpty Dumpty's theory of language and meaning :-)

Nice! I'll try to remember that, because indeed, this was counter-intuitive!

    1. not or and

This makes no sense. Traditionally, 'and' has a higher precedence than 'or' -- and it is the case in Python as well.

    2. Python Operators Precedence Example

This table is wrong! See https://docs.python.org/3/reference/expressions.html#operator-precedence for the correct precedence.

    1. So what exactly does this mean for you?

Regarding Hypothesis, it is not clear to me to which extent its API is compliant with the W3C Annotation Protocol. I had a quick look at it and it seemed to me that there were differences, and the API documentation doesn't mention it at all...
