Trekt parallel met mindmapping. There's a diff though. n:: Mindmaps trigger your spatial brain and memory, which is why imagery works well there as landmarks. Every branch of a mindmap is a songline in a sense. Very diff from using a visual anchor for a category across your notes.
Excellent video. I do have to mention that Germane Load is an old concept. In the newer model it is called Optimized Intrinsic Cognitive Load -> Working Memory devoted to the creation or automation of cognitive schemata.
With most mind mapping software something at the bottom of one branch cannot be elegantly linked to something that is categorized in a distant branch unless your mind map is really small. So “mind maps” essentially have the same linear limitation that your computer filing system does.
Mind mapping runs into the same problem because it is also a hierarchy.
