¿Tiene usted en mente algún ejemplo nacional o de fuera de España de modelos de ciudad que puedan ir marcando el futuro de la movilidad sostenible? Yo he vivido unos cuantos años en París, justo antes de incorporarme al Gobierno. Viví un París que empezaba con entusiasmo su relación de amistad con la bicicleta y que se planteaba los cambios estructurales de la movilidad de la gran periferia de la ciudad. Y en muy poco tiempo hemos visto cómo se ha convertido en una ciudad transformada, en la que las orillas del Sena están conquistadas para los peatones, desplazando completamente al automóvil motorizado. Una ciudad en la que las grandes avenidas del centro ofrecen su espacio a las bicicletas y los peatones. Sabemos que algunas de estas alternativas se están incorporando ya en las ciudades españolas. Creo que hay ejemplos interesantes y muy distintos: con peatonalizaciones y soluciones mixtas en Pontevedra, con una apuesta muy decidida en Valladolid en muy poco tiempo, con una apuesta tímida en Madrid, con soluciones diferentes en Sevilla o Málaga. En Barcelona, con las super manzanas. En Valencia se están ensayando distintas alternativas. Mi impresión, de nuevo, es que va a ocurrir mucho más rápido de lo que pensamos. Y algo que vemos con sorpresa en París, algo que está conquistando Nueva York, lo vamos a encontrar en las ciudades españolas muy rápidamente y de forma más extensa de lo que de lo que algunos hubieran sospechado. ¿Podría hacer el Gobierno una suerte de plan nacional para incentivar el uso de la bici como medio de transporte y no como medio para el ocio? Yo creo que la bici, además de ocio, debe ser entendida como medio de transporte. Del mismo modo que tenemos zonas sin humos, debemos tener zonas sin emisiones. Las ciudades tienen que ser para los ciudadanos, no para los vehículos. Por tanto, los ciudadanos pueden estar acompañados de algo que sea más amigable que los vehículos motorizados: las bicis. Pero también debemos tener cuidado con cómo respetamos la responsabilidad de cada cual. Este Gobierno viene incorporando en el Plan Moves las alternativas para que cada comunidad autónoma decida qué parte del recurso disponible se puede destinar a inversiones, en infraestructuras relativamente poco costosas, que facilitan la preparación del centro de las ciudades para los peatones y las bicis. Ahora va a haber todavía más recurso disponible, más incentivos e incluso más regulación. Vamos a impulsar que sea obligatorio disponer de zonas bajas de emisiones en todas las ciudades de más de 50.000 habitantes, y probablemente eso se va a generalizar en ciudades más pequeñas. El espacio total destinado a este tipo de soluciones se va a ampliar a mucha más velocidad. Pero me parece que, más que imponer una obligación de bicis desde la legislación básica del Estado, es importante disponer del recurso, disponer del incentivo y asumir la responsabilidad como toca.

If you're a teacher, please oh please tell your students about Spaced Repetition (& other evidence-based study habits) early on.
But take into account that spaced repetition apps don't work for kids (it would be nice if there was a clarification there)
TL;DR: their memory works differently, their long term memory is very bad, while their brain plasticity is high.
The post is from Piotr Wozniak, the creator of supermemo and the concept of spaced repetition (he probably deserves a mention as well since though Herman Ebbinghaus did discovered the spacing effect and forgetting curves it was Wozniak the one that invented the spaced repetition algorithms).
