I have a question for you. What does it mean to be President, in your perspective? What does it mean to anyone? I think people often underestimate the politics of being the President of the United States in itself. I imagine it’s stressful, and I know it’s a very hard job that only certain people are equipped.
In this paragraph they talking how stressful it could to be president and that is a hard job that only certain people are equipped.
This is important because president has so much responsibility to take care of on there daily basis.

In this quote they are talking about how miller brought some a association football equipment and a rules book with him. To develop the new rules of the game.
This is important because so that people can know the rules of the sport while playing soccer also so nobody will get hurt.

At the fifth meeting a motion was proposed that these two rules be removed from the FA rules. Most of the delegates supported this suggestion but F. W. Campbell, the representative from Blackheath and the first FA treasurer, objected strongly. He said, "hacking is the true football".
In this quote they talking about how hacking should be obtained but also they trying to to get rid of it.
This is important because hacking can be a serious situation at times , but also you do not want the sport to get lame.
The Cambridge rules differed from the draft FA rules in two significant areas; namely running with (carrying) the ball and hacking (kicking opposing players in the shins). The two contentious FA rules were as follows:
In this quote they are talking how to name the rules namely running with (carrying) the ball and hacking (kicking opposing players in the shins).
This is important so that players will know not to make the wrong movement on the pitch.

The need for a single body to oversee the worldwide game became apparent at the beginning of the 20th century with the increasing popularity of international fixtures
In this quote they are talking about a single body to oversee the worldwide game became apparent at the beginning of the 20th century.

The rule eliminating passing of the ball forwards by making all players in front of the ball 'offside' (much like in rugby today) was dropped.
In this paragraph they are talking about eliminating passing of the ball forward by making all players in front of the ball "offside"(much like in rugby today)was dropped.
This is important because as a soccer player you should know when to pass the ball on the pitch even tho you may make mistakes at times.
This connect to me because I was playing soccer recently and my teammate pass me the ball but it was an offside I was kinda frustrated, but I already know that was the rule of the game.
So, Future President, don’t you think that it is time to “encourage some reforms” and give some money to the student-athletes that bring all of the revenue in? If you decide to do that I believe that the student-athletes will start to feel like they are being more appreciated for all of their hard work that they do for the school.
In this quote Tanner is saying "so,future president, don't you think that it is time to "encourage some reforms" and give some money to the student-athletes that bring all of the revenue In?"
This is important so that college student that play sports can get paid the fact that they bring revenue.
This does not relate to me.
The NCAA says that it is a nonprofit, but the NCAA racks in around $10.8 billion a year, just off of a media contract with CBS Sports and Turner Broadcasting. The president of the NCAA makes a comfortable one million dollars a year while the student-athletes that produce all that revenue get their school paid and nothing else
In this quote they talking the president of the NCAA makes a comfortable one million dollars a year while the student-athletes that produce all that revenue get their school paid and nothing else.
This is important because young athlete shouldn't get cheated like that, they also should credit for what they do. This does not connect to me.
Most of them are in debt once they get out of college because they do not have time to work and make money since they are spending 40+ hours a week doing their sport. I think that the best thing to do to solve this situation is to pay the athletes based on the revenue that they personally bring in themselves.
In this paragraph they talking about how college players should get paid since they don't have any time to work or make money.
This is important so that these college players can get payed.
This connect to me because I will like to play college soccer and hopefully get payed for it.
When Theodore Roosevelt founded the NCAA on March 31, 1906, he had a vision in sight to “encourage reforms” in college sports. He did that because college football in the early 20th century had a high number of repeated injuries and deaths and “prompted many college and universities to discontinue the sport.
In this paragraph they talking about how Roosevelt was trying to change the way college sports was played, football particularly because people were getting injured an dying.
This is important so that these college players can stay safe and avoid death or any injuries.
This connects to me because I have a friend that play foot ball.
In closing, try this experiment: Think of the kid who was the best player on your first rec-league soccer team, or in Little League baseball, or Pop Warner football. Now think of that one kid you knew in grade school or high school who went on to play in the pros, or at least Division I. Doesn’t matter which sport.
In this paragraph they are talking about how a kid in your first rec-league soccer or in little league baseball. Now come to think of that kids as a professional or atleast premier league. This paragraph relates to me because I have friend that started playing soccer with but they are now In a camp which I hopefully will be going to.
The great thing about team sports is that the most important qualities are transferrable. Speed, power, reaction time, movement skills, and hand-eye coordination carry over from one to another
In this paragraph their are talking about how team work important qualities which are speed power, movement skills etc. This defiantly relates to me because I play for a soccer team which has the same momentum. The fact we have to work on all type of skill set.
The athletic qualities they miss out on by focusing on one sport can be developed in a good training program, Taft says. “As coaches, we can use warmups, off-season, and pre-season to generalize workouts.”
In this paragraph they are talking about how u they can utilize the time for off season,pre_season,warms up to generalize workouts. This relates to me because my coach also likes to adjust time that needed as possible so that we can get better at what we do best.
“You rarely see someone who played only baseball all the way through go on to have a successful career in the big leagues,” he says, noting that you have to be a good athlete before you can be a good baseball player.
In this paragraph they are talking about that you that have to be that skillful to play baseball. So this relates to me because I was playing junior league, I was not that athletic so I quit it even though I didn't know you don't have to be athletic so much.
In other situations, a kid simply may not want to play more than one sport. “If an athlete truly finds a pure passion, I have no issues with the athlete playing just that one sport, even at a young age,”
In this quote they are talking about how kids like to play more than one sport. This quote relates to me because I wrote a post like this talking about how I like to play more than one sport. But I felt like playing one sport that your really passionate about is better.
And there goes that scholarship you were counting on when you tithed 10 percent of your income on camps, travel teams, and private coaches. So should you push your kid to focus on his or her best sport, and train for it year-round?
I totally agree with this because playing one sport helps u get better at it years round. This matters to me because this what I've been talking about during my post that relates to this.
Your football coach wants you and your teammates to spend your offseason loading the barbell like powerlifters and filling cafeteria trays like sumo wrestlers. The local AAU coach wants you to play basketball on his team through the spring and summer, making you more accessible to college recruiters. And the hitting instructor your father hired wants you to play baseball year-round: high school in the spring, travel teams in the summer, and showcases in the fall and winter.
In this paragraph this coach want these kids to be occupied during the off season, the football coach want them to load the barbells, The basketball want them to play so that they can get recruited in college, The baseball coach them to in spring.
This matter because it depend was gonna improve on your skill during the off season.
This is different from me because I don't play on teams so much.
In this paragraph they are talking about how kids are better off playing more than one sports because it helps them become better athletically. This relates to me because I was recently working on a post about playing two sports, but I was actually going against it saying that focusing on one sports is an better advantage of making.
. On the one hand, it’s every dad’s dream to watch your son or daughter play hard and not just enjoy the experience, but dominate the competition.
- this matters to me because it relate to how my dad feels about me wen I play soccer Aldo he want me to have fun I play to the level of competition.
You’ve loved sports as long as you can remember, and squeeze in as many as you can: football in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball in the spring and summer. The problem, at least in the eyes of some of the adults in your life, is that your love is too promiscuous. You feel constant pressure to pick just one
This quote right here matters to me because it relates to my situation, which is having to playing two sports at the same time. But I don't feel like I'm promiscuous because even though I play other sports than soccer I don't take it serious as much as soccer.
- passionate sport
- more than one
- team soccer skill
