    1. The analysis found that those organizations using separate standards showed greater integration performance compared with organizations that did not use combined standards.

Companies that try to make the same standards across their organization, will cause their people to get bogged down in trying to to make the standards fit their job function. This causes to many constraints and will lower project performance.

    2. Already a member?

To access the community, Job Board, Straight Talk and some free courses, you will need to create an account. The account is FREE and the only people that have access to your information is yourself, pmNERDs and anyone you want to be friends with in the Community. Please create an account and participate today! We need your help to build an excellent PM community.

    1. Profile

The first thing you should do within the Community is to complete your Profile so others can get to know you. You can also earn points and badges for completing your profile.

    1. Basic Information

People within the Community would like to know more about you. Try to complete as much information on yourself as you can, keep in mind your email isn't shared with anyone unless you befriend someone. Your Birthday date year is never visible to other members. Completing this information helps others find people who have similar interests and locations.

    1. Continuous Performance Improvement

Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) is made possible by Integrated PM. To get the most value from CPI, the organization needs to prepare a little, and then conduct four improvement phases.

Typically, organizations can conduct this improvement cycle three times in a year, and then use a baseline assessment to reset performance measures and modify the change roadmap, before going through a new set of improvement cycles.

    2. Performance-Serviceâ„¢

During the Performance-Serviceâ„¢ engagement, our Consultant will coach your Team through conducting all four phases of a CPI Cycle. We will also work with your Team on preparing for a CPI initiative. We will help you leverage our Performance Measure Framework and work with your Team to conduct its first self-assessment. The cost-drivers of this Service depends on your Team's experience level, existing communication channels between Business Unit functions, the size of Business Unit and amount of time available for the initiative.

    3. Process-Serviceâ„¢

Using the Process-Serviceâ„¢ your Performance Improvement Team receives training and skills mentoring on process analysis and design. This business model utilizes a custom statement of work (SOW). Your sponsor picks and choices potential line items which have been productized, and places them in your SOW. Depending on the line items the Process-Serviceâ„¢ engagement can vary widely in price and engagement duration.

    4. Fast-Serviceâ„¢

The Fast-Serviceâ„¢ is all about analysis and design of process. This is a joint effort between the Consultant and the Initiative Team. The Consultant does the heavy lifting and the Initiative Team makes decisions and conducts approvals. This business model leaves very little time for transferring analysis and design competencies. There is a fixed priced, under $10k and a highly templatetized set of deliverables. It is a fast service, with minimal time required from your Initiative Team.

    1. Performance-Serviceâ„¢

Performance-Servicesâ„¢ leverages our Performance Measure Framework to provide support for continuous performance improvement (CPI).

Mentoring your CORE Performance Improvement Team, our Consultant leads your Team through the process of adding new practices to the framework, along with all the associated documentation, including performance score cards. Together the Team will learn how to use and maintain the framework during a CPI initiative.

An additional online training course on conducting the Self-Assessment can be added to this effort for Team Member reference.

    2. Process-Serviceâ„¢

Process-Serviceâ„¢: In the Process-Serviceâ„¢ diagram, we see that the focus changes from producing performance analysis to designing a practice.

Our Consultant works with your Team as a process trainer and skills mentor to teach your Team how to perform the analysis and design skills, using our templates to build their own practices. Because of the training and mentoring component, the Process-Service™ can’t be a fixed price, and normally takes longer to deliver then the Fast-Service™.

An additional online training course on practice design and analysis can be added to this effort for Team Member reference.

    3. Fast-Serviceâ„¢

Fast-Serviceâ„¢ leverages existing templates designed to enable team discussions and decisions throughout the deployment stages.

The role of the Initiative Sponsor is to work with your project team members to facilitate required decisions during the consulting sessions, also to work with our Project Manger to approve deliverables and resolve any issues.

The role of the pmNERDS Project Manager is to coordinate with the Sponsor and the pmNERDS Consultant while providing guidelines and constraints to the consultant.

The role of the pmNERDS Consultant is to coach the Project Management Team through initiative milestones, and conduct specialized analysis and design to optimize the Team’s readiness for performance improvement change using various analysis and design deliverables.

The Project Management Team's role is to function as the core group within your organization- driving process change. They meet with the Consultant in one hour phone calls twice a week, to review deliverables and guide future analysis and design, make improvement decisions and being enabled by the Consultant prepare for the next call.

    4. Operational Concepts

An Operational Concept graphically captures the vision of how various roles work together to optimize the services delivered value.

    1. Performance-Serviceâ„¢

Our Performance-Serviceâ„¢ utilizes the deliverables of the Fast-Serviceâ„¢ and leverages the skills developed in our Process-Serviceâ„¢ to go to the next step of Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI).

In this Service, we leverage our Performance Measure Framework to complete a CPI cycle and maintain the framework, while continuously improving practices through change adoption and training principles.

    1. Process-Serviceâ„¢

The Process-Serviceâ„¢ focuses on five principles of success depending on your practice area. The Team then leverages this focus in constraint analysis, identifying the key bottle-neck within your current process. Then through skills mentoring, they design a practice which will break the bottle-neck and improve performance.

Various blog posts will further describe this process and Integrated PM methods.

    1. Fast-Serviceâ„¢ Package

The Fast-Serviceâ„¢ package contains the same deliverables regardless of the focus area. The information within each deliverable is used to enable Team decision making and will change depending on the focus area and previous Team responses. But the delivery process and type of deliverable stays the same. In this blog post we describe the deliverables.

Further information about the deliverables can be seen by clicking on the deliverable title. These links will take you to additional information and examples of that deliverable. Make sure you use the back button on your browser to get back to the Services Tour.

    1. The Center of Excellence has recently been able to launch a free coaching experience to its community members on how to more effectively use the features provided by the community website.

See this link to find out more about the Community Coaching Program

    1. While these are valuable outcomes of the coaching process, the greatest value of the coaching experience is in the learner's making transformational change.

The change plan should identify the level of change and help the Learner identify fundamental changes that their willing to make in order to achieve their goals.

    1. Coaching is essentially a human experience. If developers forget this and either employ too many techniques or use techniques at the wrong time, they become more coaching technicians than developers who can make a difference in the lives of learners.

Even though the strategic objective of our Community Coaching Program is to teach technology use, as coaches we need to remember that our coaching is to make a difference in the lives of our Learners. To do this we need to think in terms of Use Cases and Value Propositions.

    1. As a community coach, you want to master the center (intersection) activities, and maybe grow your relationship into one of the other capacities when it makes sense.

The Center of Excellence has recently launch a free coaching experience to its Community Members on how to more effectively use the features provided by the Community Website.

    2. All Community developers or coaches need to fulfill the following CORE functions for learners: Offer a different perspective Serve as a sounding board so that learners can share and then reflect on their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors Tell "teaching" stories that communicate important messages Share relevant firsthand experiences Give honest feedback Suggest development activities and provide other resources as needed

The special role the community developers play is the Facilitated Coaching Role, opposed to the Consulting/Mentor role, Trainer role, or Leader role.

    1. The question is often asked whether learners and developers should be paired on the basis of a shared characteristic, such as gender, race, age, and/or personality.

The organizational structure of our Community Coaching Program guarantees alignment. The Developer or Coach should identify and formally recognize the difference between the Developer's and Learner's experiences and not try to focus on common ground. Your common ground by definition, is the coaching goal set by the Learner.
