n this video we set up the Montage to work (audio/MIDI) with Ableton Live through one USB cable. We also set up recording audio, MIDI and MIDI arp in Live as well.
This video helped me get the audio and MIDI settings set up on Ableton Live 11 and Yamaha MODX8. There are slight differences in the Ableton Live interface, as the video uses an earlier version. But the setup is basically the same.

Sad day for MPE advocates. Sure, we knew this was coming. And we have plenty of support from other vendors. Yet those efforts by then-ROLI are erased by this #pianocentric pivot.

controllers that speak regular MIDI and MPE
MPE support remains one of the distinctive features of Bitwig Studio since Ableton has yet to add it to Live, even after MPE became a standard. Maybe the connection to modularity isn’t clear to everyone. But it’s abundantly clear to ROLI and to some of us, musickers using DAW controllers and synths.

Audio in general is not reliable,
Wonder if something could be done with MIDI. Actually, maybe there are new standards to replace MIDI in those situations (OSC doesn’t sound like it’d fit).
