On behalf of all open-source developers and project maintainers, I ask you try and be polite the next time you ask for support. Try to remember that there is a real human being on the other side of the screen, and they actually want to help you.

Are you two serious? Instead of advocating to fix this bug you go out of your way to post another bug report to advocate the devs to dig in their heels?! How about standardizing some devastating needed questions in the technology industry: 1. How does this help productive members of society? 2. Does this serve a useful purpose? 3. Should I be doing this? 4. Have I had a full, non-interrupted, rational conversation with multiple people who disagrees to help determine if I have objectively determined my answers to the first three questions?

Of course, I don't doubt your report and of course, I want this to work. Before I invest a lot of effort again into supporting Node.js's exotic "support" for ESM, though: would you mind trying whether upgrading to Node.js 14.17 solves the problem for you?

As nosniff support is added to Chrome and Firefox, hotlinking will stop working in those browsers, and we wanted our beloved users, human and otherwise, to know why.

Please don't thank me! ;-) If this answer did help, just click the little grey ☑ at the left of this text right now turning it into beautiful green. If you do not like the answer, click on the little grey down-arrow below the number, and if you really like the answer, click on the little grey ☑ and the little up-arrow... If you have any further questions, just ask another one! ;-)
How would you even describe this comment?
"just doing my job"? but he is (I assume) answering to be nice not because it's his job
"I won't take it personally"? vote my answer up or down, whichever you please
impartial, dispassionate, and objective, perhaps? "just the facts, ma'am"
Separately, what is the "Please don't thank me!" for? Is it that politeness? False modesty? Genuine modesty? Or is it rude? Why not allow someone to thank you??

Trust me, I'm not trying to stress you right now, but I just wanted to do a friendly bump in case you forgot about this. (I know how it is sometimes) If you get this notification and feel "Ugh, I really don't have time" you don't have to comment here and I'm sorry. I'm just sending you a notification in case you forgot. If not, feel free to archive the email and not click/tap on anything.

Please don't copy answers to multiple questions; this is the same as your answer to a similar question
Why on earth not? There's nothing wrong with reusing the same answer if it can work for multiple questions. That's called being efficient. It would be stupid to write a new answer from scratch when you already have one that can work very well and fits the question very well.

I realise all this sounds a bit brittle and hairy, so would understand if you decided to call time on this whole experiment!

"When an OP rejects your edit, please do not edit it back in!" Correspondingly, when a user repeatedly does try to edit, understand that something in your framing isn't working right, and you should reconsider it.

One thing that irritates me more than anything is the expectation people have to other people’s time, specifically open source project maintainers. They are not your tech support. They built a product you are using for free. You’re welcome.
I think the vast majority of open source users don't need to be told this. But it only takes a few jerks to regularly annoy someone.
Chris Patti added a good point. Even if you can't donate, you can send short thank-you emails. That should include anyone who makes something you find helpful or entertaining, whether it's software, open access books, MOOCs, tutorials, a blog, webcomics, videos, etc.
