1. Making Custom Typewriter Line Spacings by [[Joe Van Cleave]]

I suspected JVC would have a custom cut platen gear, but he's using a premarked backing sheet to adjust each line to do one and a half line spacing.

Joe mentions that the manual adjustments on each line is a net positive in that it gives him some time to pause and collect his thoughts before continuing writing on each line.

Figma

Figma has many options for line spacing. You can use "&" and points, and others also by clicking the "apply variable" icon on the right of the Line height option.

The percentage calculation is different to what is calculated here. To match the 135% discussed and recommended here, as the optimum distance, use 170%.

Google Docs Line spacing in Google Docs is interesting. You can choose line spacing between 0.6 and 100. You cannot use the % as a line spacing feature.

To match the 135% discussed and recommended here, as the optimum distance, use 1.35 and create a custom line spacing. Note it seems to match the 135% concept, but it does not play out in the higher pts.

• 1 line spacing = 120% (using Figma %)
• 1.15 line spacing = 140%
• 1.5 line spacing = 185%
• Double line spacing = 240%

Stencils

Before writing stencils, be sure to clean your type. (Don't use liquid solvent.)

Be sure to place the cushion sheet properly behind the stencil.

Place the paper bail rollers at the extreme left and right of the stencil to prevent them from marking the master.

For errors, rub individual characters separately with a burnisher using a circular motion.

1. So, here is how I manage it, if the line height cannot be reduced sufficiently by the numeric entry/spinbox: Try clicking the question-mark (un-set variable inline height). If that does not resolve the issue, activate the Tt button ("outer" text style) and set the font height to something small and linespacing to something small and click the questionmark. Then de-activate Tt (outer) and edit the text normally.i.e. The outer style overrides the inner style.

1. LESSLEARNING,MORE OFTEN:THE IMPACT OF SPACINGEFFECTINAN ADULTE-LEARNINGENVIRONMENTl

Spacing effect. of training explores the retention of learning over short and long intervals of learning, particularly in hybrid and distance learning.
The study was based on prior studies regarding training and retention and integrated data from the learning management system used by the participants. The study resulted in finding that smaller , more frequent learning over time appears to be more effective than the traditional presentation of mass learning. The study also concluded that much of the time participants spent in learning pertained to language acquisition of foreign language learners and/or new vocabulary.
It is also noted that the participants were engaged in learning to support workplace goals, which leads to highly motivated participants.
