You need to understand that the person you are reaching out to has probably spent 100s of hours working on this project, for free. They do not owe you anything. The maintainers are extending a courtesy by giving away their work for free and then making themselves available to support it. The point is, you should try and be nice when filing for support. The maintainer of the project has literally no obligation to help you.

Actually, I've decided to stop using labels for a while. A "bug" label gives the impression that someone else is going to fix the problem. We don't have enough volunteers for that (new contributors welcome!). I try to help people working on issues, though. I've spent many hours on this one.

If you don't receive a reply, even if you do provide all the information required to show the issue, be aware that the forums are a very busy place. There are more than 40 new threads a day asking for assistance and not every one can be freely answered.

The real advantages that the VRVO offers to science and to its sponsors are based on the fact that it is not a funded project or center, and that the difference between it and funded centers (or facilities, or projects) is intentional and generative to its ROI.
The simple point here is that you want to create a volunteer-run organization to do those things that are really easy for this type of organization to do, and really hard to fund directly.

The presence of volunteers further added to visitors’ experiences as volunteers’ presence encouraged visitors to ask questions, look for hints when appropriate, and learn about the mathematical principles behind the exhibits.
Value of volunteers / peers as POC's in the space. Works for dedicated galleries/museums, but not so sure for libraries. Spatial differences - people not coming to library as a "destination." Possibly helping text/hands-on technology and automated feedback channels more useful for our case.
