    1. static electricity in photocopiers helps to create accurate, high-quality copies of documents

It is important to the processes of making documents.

    2. static electricity projects a pattern of the image onto the positively charged photoreceptive drum below. The positively charged particles on the drum's surface are neutralized by the light

      It can print using charges

    3. Negatively charged toner particles are then attracted to these positive charges on the paper, and the toner is transferred to a positively charged sheet of paper.

It is transfer to traction and repelation.

    4. static electricity plays a crucial role in the copying process.

It is required to photo copy

    1. One effective way of preventing sparks is by connecting all objects to a conductor

      Then it can flow proporly

    2. Spark discharges occur when the charges accumulated on conductive objects create an electric field that exceeds the ambient atmosphere’s electric strength.

Static needs to stay in the correct conditions to not become harmful.

    3. Sparks are responsible for most industrial fires and explosions as a result of static electricity.

Static can cause many fires and expolsions

    4. Fires or explosions due to the ignition of flammable or explosive mixtures.

Static electricity causes sparks putting flammable materials at risk.

    5. static electricity is far from other familiar electromagnetic manifestations of electricity. It can be as hazardous and requires well-planned protection against its threats.

      Static electricity can be dangerous

    1. form of electricity resulting from the imbalance between positive and negative charges

Only from positive and negative charge.

    1. a stationary electric charge, typically produced by friction, which causes sparks or crackling or the attraction of dust or hair.

    1. It should be noted that in France, regulations do not allow this market-based approach when reporting company level CO2e emissions : “The assessment of the impact of electricity consumption in the GHG emissions report is carried out on the basis of the average emission factor of the electrical network (…) The use of any other factor is prohibited. There is therefore no discrimination by [electricity] supplier to be established when collecting the data.” (Regulatory method V5-BEGES decree).

Companies are barred from using market based approaches for reporting?

How does it work for Amazon then?

    1. all the new electricity generation installed worldwide 90 percent of it was renewable it's now the cheapest source of electricity in almost the entire 00:39:05 planet secondly electric vehicles for the transportation sector the penetration has reached the 10 percent level in multiple geographies that's the point where you often see an inflection 00:39:19 going much higher Norway is already at 50 percent all the auto makers are going in that direction business is leading

      Electric Field

    1. Gravitational potential energy is the energy stored in an object as the result of its vertical position or height. The energy is stored as the result of the gravitational attraction of the Earth for the object.

    1. Electric potential energy is the energy that is needed to move a charge against an electric field. You need more energy to move a charge further in the electric field, but also more energy to move it through a stronger electric field.

      EPE

    1. Polarization, in Physics, is defined as a phenomenon caused due to the wave nature of electromagnetic radiation. Sunlight travels through the vacuum to reach the Earth, which is an example of an electromagnetic wave. These waves are called electromagnetic waves because they form when an electric field that interacts with a magnetic field.

      Polarization

    1. Conductors are materials that permit electrons to flow freely from particle to particle. An object made of a conducting material will permit charge to be transferred across the entire surface of the object.

      What are conductors?

    1. Voltage is the pressure from an electrical circuit's power source that pushes charged electrons (current) through a conducting loop, enabling them to do work such as illuminating a light.

This is by far the best explanation I found.

    1. “Electricity;”

Like the air-pump, recent experiments with electricity also fascinate Victor even while he reaches for a non-modern "system" that would be antithetical to empirical scientific reason. See Iwan Morus, Frankenstein's Children: Electricity, Exhibition, and Experiment in Early Nineteenth Century London (Princeton UP, 1998).

    2. I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open; it breathed 098hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs

This description recalls an experiment by Giovanni Aldini, a Professor of Experimental Philosophy at the University of Bologna, Italy. He was also Luigi Galvani’s nephew and a strong proponent of the latter’s work. In early 1803, Aldini conducted an electrical experiment on the corpse of Thomas Foster at Newgate Prison in London. A voltaic pile sent electric currents through the dead man’s body, causing it to contract and contort and one eye to open. Such experiments were well known to the Shelleys, who attended physiological lectures in London between 1802 and 1816.

    1. Before this I was not unacquainted with the more obvious laws of electricity. On this occasion a man of great research in natural philosophy was with us, and, excited by this catastrophe, he entered on the explanation of a theory which he had formed on the subject of electricity and galvanism, which was at once new and astonishing to me. All that he said threw greatly into the shade Cornelius Agrippa, Albertus Magnus, and Paracelsus, the lords of my imagination; but by some fatality the overthrow of these men disinclined me to pursue my accustomed studies. It seemed to me as if nothing would or could ever be known. All that had so long engaged my attention suddenly grew despicable. By one of those caprices of the mind, which we are perhaps most subject to in early youth, I at once gave up my former occupations; set down natural history and all its progeny as a deformed and abortive creation; and entertained the greatest disdain for a would-be science, which could never even step within the threshold of real knowledge. In this mood of mind I betook myself to the mathematics, and the branches of study appertaining to that science, as being built upon secure foundations, and so worthy of my consideration. Thus strangely are our souls constructed, and by such slight ligaments are we bound to prosperity or ruin. When I look back, it seems to me as if this almost miraculous change of inclination and will was the immediate suggestion of the guardian angel of my life— the last effort made by the spirit of preservation to avert the storm that was even then hanging in the stars, and ready to envelope me. Her victory was announced by an unusual tranquillity and gladness of soul, which followed the relinquishing of my ancient and latterly tormenting studies. It was thus that I was to be taught to associate evil with their prosecution, happiness with their disregard. 29It was a strong effort of the spirit of good; but it was ineffectual. Destiny was too potent, and her immutable laws had decreed my utter and terrible destruction.

In this section, in 1831 three paragraphs of text replace a five-paragraph section in 1818.

Awed by the destructive power of the lightning-blast and their companions discourse on galvanism, Victor throws aside the "tormenting studies" of both medieval alchemy and natural philosophy which had hitherto fueled his sense of wonder and formed the basis of his intellectual obsessions. Turning instead to mathematics, he enjoys a brief respite from his torments, but his former desires will overtake him again.

    1. Control rods are usually used in control rod assemblies (typically 20 rods for a commercial PWR assembly) and inserted into guide tubes within a fuel element. A control rod is removed from or inserted into the central core of a nuclear reactor in order to increase or decrease the neutron flux, which describes the number of neutrons that split further uranium atoms. This in turn affects the thermal power, the amount of steam produced and hence the electricity generated.
