propofol, have also been demonstrated to act at extrasynaptic receptors and enhance tonicinhibition in hippocampus

this form of GABAergic cellular communi-cation is more similar to the type of volume transmission observed with monoamineneurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine and histamine
I'm going to hang onto the wording of volume transmission.
It makes me think about an alternative hypothesis to the functions behind Cannabis causing HPPD, as the psychedelics typically responsible for that symptom are serotonergic.

that very low (nM) concentrations of GABA,which typically occur in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of the extracellular space, can persistently activate a population of non-synaptic GABA A receptors resultingin a ‘tonic’ increase in membrane conductance
GABA typically occurs in the CSF, and very small levels of GABA can activate extrasynaptic receptors.

How to beat procrastination?
07.00 Clear goals — goals that focus on the action, not the outcome. (Very specific)
See GTD on next-actions that make a distinction between outcomes (projects) and clear goals (Next-Actions)
"This keeps your brain from wondering, what is the first step?"
10.00 Challenge-skill balance. Find sweet spot where challenge is slightly more than your skill level. Too much challenge is anxiety, too little is boredom. How to tune it? (1) Lower the hurdle. (2) Compress time for a given task. (3) Define scope (What needs to be done? Why? How long?)
14.00 Bypassing/response inhibition. Engaging in a task as soon as you are committed. Don't waver. Sleep to flow is an example.
17.30 Flow payoff — have long blocks of focus, where the struggle to get into flow is actually worth it.

Psychologists call this mechanism activeinhibition (cf. MacLeod, 2007
Active inhibition is the filter that prevents our minds from being constantly flooded with memories and allows us to focus. It acts as a barrier between our long term memories and our immediate present.
Is the filter behind active inhibition really active or is it passive? What is the actual physiological mechanism?

A known copy (104/reaction) of Oncorhynchus keta (O. keta) was added in the DNAse and RNAse free water and the Cq value obtained acted as a reference point. If the Cq value of a wastewater sample increases compared to the reference Cq value, the sample is considered to have PCR inhibitors.
Was this RNA or DNA that was spiked in?
- O. Keta is a salmon fish
- The reference cited here (Haugland et al., 2005) uses a DNA standard of O.keta 16s rRNA gene
