You might consider whether you want it to live that long, even if it could. Most of the time, the problem results from attempting to create a dangling reference or a mismatch of the available lifetimes. In such cases, the solution is fixing those problems, not specifying the 'static lifetime.

Analyses using the scale that included alternative and traditional depression symptoms found that men and women met criteria for depression in equal proportions: 30.6% of men and 33.3% of women (P = .57).
According to the CDC, the lifetime risk of depression is about 1 in 6. Adding this new criteria nearly doubles that to 1 in 3.
These new criteria detect depression at a rate of roughly 1 in 4. That's a higher rate than the standard test, but it doesn't detect all the cases of depression.
