    1. FindingGod’s strength within was the emotional and spiritualfoundation and the necessary antecedent of “regaining mycomposure.”

this is good and all but I dont think she found strength in God. it might've been the opposite. closer reading needed

Sarah's relationship with God has been completely skewed. Her mother urged herfather to be "jesus" a savior to the black race. he was supposed to heal the misery of the black man, but instead he ended up wanting to escape his blackness.

Her foundation of christ is just as broken as her foundation in her father. by her line "I always belived my father to be God" it means that she used to have faith in him. used to have faith in him as a black man like her mother did. but when he went off and married a white woman she lost her ability to have faith in anything.

to her, her father marrying a white woman would be like jesus endorsing the anti-christ. it is absolutely blasphemous in chrisitan belief and would challenge the entire lifestyle and existance of a christians religious identity.

    1. being strong encourages Black women to adopt an extensive andpotentially self-negating caretaking role to others.

Though it's not really shown if sarah has a care taking role/ personality, two of her four "selves" have lived selfless lives that resulted in their execution/ crucification.

      both JEsus and Lumbaba.

    1. Christianity, too, is dependent upon the truthful· ness of testimony about the life and teachings of Jesus. Whately, following Campbell, analyzes testimony in great detail, seeking criteria for its truthfulness and examinT ing the effects of different types of testimony on audiences.

Newsweek Article: Playing Telephone with the Word of God

I think this article nicely complicates the concept of "the truthfulness of testimony about the life and teachings of Jesus" in that it suggests that no *true" witness assertions about Jesus that could constitute a historical record actually exist: "No television preacher has ever read the Bible. Neither has any evangelical politician. Neither has the pope. Neither have I. And neither have you. At best, we’ve all read a bad translation—a translation of translations of translations of hand-copied copies of copies of copies of copies, and on and on, hundreds of times."

    1. A miracle is a universal blessing from God through me to all my brothers. It is the privilege of the forgiven to forgive.

Jesus, also known as Jeshua, also known as simply J, who likes to call himself Shanti Christo, calls YOU to join the Holy Crusade in undoing your ego!

I need devoted teachers who share my aim of healing the mind. T-4.1.13

Once you have developed a thought system of any kind, you live by it and teach it. Your capacity for allegiance to a thought system may be misplaced, but it is still a form of faith and can be redirected. T-6.in.2

You have been called, together with your brother, to the most holy function this world contains. T-18.1.13

    1. Rev. v.

What Williams is specifically alluding to here in this passage is Revelation 5:11-12, that further alludes to the the execution of Jesus as the "greater slaughter":

"And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders:and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

    1. RAJ: The star heralding the birth of Jesus rose over a state of unenlightened thought, leading that thought to the place where the Christ Child lay in human experience. Conceptually speaking, you can see that it was not possible for the people of that time or land to perceive the dawning within their consciousness of the existence of the Christ-consciousness in any other than the smallest way—something brand new, but something small. And the appearing of the Christ-consciousness took a very literal form for them. They could not conceive that it was themselves, so it had to be someone else, someone else new and small. And so, the baby, Jesus, was a very literal manifestation of the only way in which they could conceive of the appearance of the Christ in their world.
