    1. Persistent navigation drawers can toggle open or closed. The drawer sits on the same surface elevation as the content. It is closed by default and opens by selecting the menu icon, and stays open until closed by the user. The state of the drawer is remembered from action to action and session to session. When the drawer is outside of the page grid and opens, the drawer forces other content to change size and adapt to the smaller viewport.

    1. Patients with persistent pneumothorax, large air leaks after tube thoracostomy, or difficulty ventilating should undergo fiber-optic bronchoscopy to exclude a tracheobronchial injury or presence of a foreign body.
    2. Persistent hemorrhage from a chest tube after blunt trauma most often is due to injured intercostal arteries; for unusual persistent bleeding
    3. In patients with clear indications for operation, essential radiographs should be taken, and the patient should be transported to the OR immediately. Such patients include those with blunt trauma and massive hemothorax, those with penetrating trauma and an initial chest tube output of >1 L, and those with abdominal trauma and ultrasound evidence of extensive hemoperitoneum.
    4. During diagnostic evaluation, type O RBCs (O-negative for women of childbearing age) and thawed AB plasma should be administered at a ratio of 2:1. Type-specific RBCs should be administered as soon as available.

    1. Available at: https://cioms.ch/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/WEB-CIOMS-EthicalGuidelines.pdf.

This URL seems very unstable, so I archived the file at http://web.archive.org/web/20191223233751/https://cioms.ch/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/WEB-CIOMS-EthicalGuidelines.pdf .

In general, it is good practice to provide not just links but also an archived version when citing a URL.

Of course, it would be even better if policies themselves were FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable), as discussed, for instance, in https://github.com/Daniel-Mietchen/events/blob/master/PIDapalooza-2018.md .

Would be nice if that identifier would lead somewhere useful. A web search for it yielded https://doi.org/10.12688/wellcomeopenres.15442.1 , which is also included in the collection "GFBR: The ethics of data sharing and biobanking in health research" available via https://wellcomeopenresearch.org/collections/gfbr18 .

    1. This is a direct result of the evolution of these antibiotics in microorganisms competing for resources, in which the production of antibiotics that target fast growing bacterial cells

Great point! Antibiotics might have evolved to contain growth or population size rather than 'kill' the whole population
