The 'polycrisis' is real enough. But it’s a surface level symptom of multiple, simultaneous phase transitions at the core of the ‘hardware’ and ‘software’ systems that define human civilisation – which together can be understood as a planetary phase shift. But if all we see and respond to is the polycrisis – the symptoms of this process as it weakens industrial structures – that will derail the planetary phase shift to a new life cycle.
for - comparison - to - book - The Ascent of Humanity - chapter 8 - The Gaian Birthing - Charles Eisenstein - quote - making sense of the polycrisis - a symptom of multiple phase transitions - (see below) - The 'polycrisis' is real enough. - But it’s a surface level symptom - of multiple, simultaneous phase transitions at the core of the ‘hardware’ and ‘software’ systems that define human civilisation - which together can be understood as a planetary phase shift. - But if all we see and respond to is the polycrisis - the symptoms of this process as it weakens industrial structures - that will derail the planetary phase shift to a new life cycle.

for: commented on - Trump and failings of political system, poem - Trump a symptom of failing political system
-
commented on
-
I wrote a poem in the comment section of this video:
- Oh what a web we weave, when we practice to deceive
- What a distance Trump will fall, when Jack Smith and the other upholders of truth disentangles it all!
- What lesson have we learned, what has hindsight allowed us to see
- about the fragility of this gift called democracy?
- Whose ideal is that men and women are all equal another way of saying we are all sacred?
- We pay a heavy price for not taking care of our disenfranchised sisters and brothers
- for without job and pay they may seem powerless but the minions of poor left behind,
- not lifted by the rising tide of unequal prosperity
- at least have a vote to vent their anger and victimhood of being forgot
- and comes along the next power-hungry, fork-tongued, snake-oil salesman
- who recognizes the strength in the weakness of the minion
- enough to exploit for personal gain the aggregate vote of the disenfranchised many
- plunging democracy and its constitutions into crisis
- Not only in the US, but all around the world
- we witness the same phenomena
- as the failings of liberal democracies that have left masses behind,
- unintentional failings of democracy,
- is exploited by the opportunist to seize power
-
and institute intentional forms of non-democracy
-
The bottom line (below):
- Regardless of political ideology,
- genuine empathy for all
- not just in theory, but in practice
- is the path to a just, stable and thriving society

Anthony Costello. (2022, February 24). The risks of cognitive symptoms lasting at least 12 MONTHS were much higher in the infected group. 4.8x higher for fatigue, 3.2x for brain fog, 5.3x for poor memory, and an incredible 51x for altered taste and smell. This seems definitely better than checking for a specific return code and overriding it to 0.
I think is referring to https://github.com/WayneD/rsync/blob/master/support/rsync-no-vanished which sets

There is a tendency in short luck-heavy games to require you to play multiple rounds in one sitting, to balance the scores. This is one such game. This multiple-rounds "mechanic" feels like an artificial fix for the problem of luck. Saboteur 1 and 2 advise the same thing because the different roles in the game are not balanced. ("Oh, well. I had the bad luck to draw the Profiteer character this time. Maybe I'll I'll draw a more useful character in round 2.") This doesn't change the fact that you are really playing a series of short unbalanced games. Scores will probably even out... statistically speaking. The Lost Cities card game tries to deal with the luck-problem in the same way.
possibly rename: games: luck: managing/mitigating the luck to games: luck: dealing with/mitigating the luck problem
