we're beginning to demonstrate is that actually contrary to our perceptions Consciousness does not become annihilated just because a person has just died and in fact Consciousness 00:04:49 appears to continue at least in the first period the early period of death the first minutes or hours after death
-
claim with evidence
- Consciousness does not become annihilated just because a person has just died
- Consciousness appears to continue at least in the first period the early period of death the first minutes or hours after death
- Explanation
- death is a biological process
- when you stop blood flow to brain cells they undergo certain changes and will eventually become damaged
- however the first thing that happens is that you stop oxygen delivery to the areas inside the core of the brain that modulate your sense of being awake and alert
- the reticulate activating system various other parts and so it's very similar to the effect of giving a general anesthetics to somebody
- if you give a high enough dose of general anesthetic to a patient or person then you basically shut down those areas of the brain
- the person's consciousness looks like it's lost
- it flips out of sight but we wouldn't say that person's Consciousness has become annihilated forever
- we just realize it's gone temporarily and so when people first die what's happening is that oxygen is stopping to those parts of the brain and it's essentially taking Consciousness out of you and making it disappear but it doesn't necessarily disappear Forever

when the animal is prevented from making insulin the ability to develop atherosclerosis appears to cease, or is significantly lessened 14. On the flip side, once exogenous insulin is introduced into the pseudo-diabetic animals, they appear to develop atherosclerosis “normally” 15, and in the case of the dog study, it appears to only develop atherosclerosis in the arteries in which they were injected with insulin.16
Example of direct link between insulin and atherosclerosis

In this study, an at least 30-fold margin between hERG’s half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50; indicates the quantity of substance needed to inhibit a given biological process in vitro by 50%) and the maximal concentration after 1 dose of cannabidiol (Cmax) has been proposed to be an acceptable degree of safety from arrhythmogenesis.5 There are human pharmacokinetic data showing that the Cmax values for CBD can reach 0.35–0.58 μM after smoking (19.2 mg) and oral intake (400 mg), respectively.6 Based on Orvos and colleagues,5 who showed that CBD had an inhibitory effect on hERG channel activity with an IC50 value of 2.07 μM, the ingestion of 400 mg of CBD results in a ratio of 3.57 (<30), thus suggesting the potential of proarrhythmic side effects in humans, especially in case of interactions with the metabolism of CBD.6 In vitro, CBD inhibits CYP isozymes (mainly CYP3A4 and CYP2C19),7 but it is unclear whether this occurs at concentrations achieved with doses used clinically.
see here for an example calculation (confirm later)
The study reporting on Cmax states:
Cmax and AUC following oral administration also appears to be dose dependent. A dose of 10 mg CBD resulted in mean Cmax of 2.47 ng/mL at 1.27 h, and a dose of 400 or 800 mg co-administered with i.v. fentanyl (a highly potent opioid) to examine its safety resulted in a mean Cmax of 181 ng/mL (at 3.0 h) and 114 ng/mL (at 1.5 h) for 400 mg, and 221 ng/mL (at 3.0 h) and 157 ng/mL (at 4.0 h) for 800 mg, in 2 sessions, respectively (Guy and Robson, 2004b; Manini et al., 2015). A dose of 800 mg oral CBD in a study involving 8 male and female cannabis smokers, reported a mean Cmax of 77.9 ng/mL and mean Tmax of 3.0 h (Haney et al., 2016). Although, an increase in dose corresponds with an increase in Cmax, the Cmax between the higher doses of CBD does not greatly differ, suggesting a saturation effect (e.g., between 400 and 800 mg). One hour after oral capsule administration containing 5.4 mg CBD in males and females, mean Cmax was reported as 0.93 ng/mL (higher for female participants than male) (Nadulski et al., 2005a). A subset (n = 12) consumed a standard breakfast meal 1 h after the capsules, which slightly increased mean Cmax to 1.13 ng/mL. CBD remained detectable for 3–4 h after administration (Nadulski et al., 2005b). Cherniakov et al. examined the pharmacokinetic differences between an oromucosal spray and an oral capsule with piperine pro-nanolipospheres (PNL) (both 10 mg CBD) in 9 men. The piperine-PNL oral formulation had a 4-fold increase in Cmax (2.1 ng/mL vs. 0.5 ng/mL), and a 2.2-fold increase in AUC0−t (6.9 vs. 3.1 h × ng/mL), while Tmax was decreased (1.0 vs. 3.0 h) compared to the oromucosal spray (Cherniakov et al., 2017a). This group further developed self-emulsifying formulations and reported again an increased bioavailability and increased Cmax within a shorter time compared to a reference spray (Atsmon et al., 2017a,b).

there's actually at least one other science fiction book from the 50s written by alice mary norton who used to 00:07:07 write under andre norton pseudonym who talked about a relatively similar concept in the time traders although the idea here was a little bit different here the author explained that pretty much all the signs of modern civilization are going to be completely 00:07:20 erased by the time the next glacial period begins in other words everything you see around you all the cities all the technology every major building every major structure we've ever built will basically be gone there will be no 00:07:33 signs of it left and within just a few million years there will be no one to tell the story and that's of course not really far from the truth as a matter of fact that's exactly what the scientists in this hypothesis propose and explain as well and that's of course why it 00:07:46 makes it so difficult to either prove or disprove this we currently have no idea if any of this is correct here i actually wanted to show you this beautiful illustration by one of the authors we basically have no idea if back in the 00:07:58 day when the dinosaurs were around they also had some kind of a super intelligent species that would drive their own versions of cars have their own versions of smartphones and eventually result in their own demise over time all of this would be gone to 00:08:11 history because of the way that geology works on our planet but in this paper the scientists decided to actually work out any potential ideas or experiments we can conduct on the planet to try to find out if this actually existed and if 00:08:25 it was possible in the past

Since facts and narratives live in different universes, we should avoid mixing them carelessly. Crossing the boundary between the two universes should always be explicit. A narrative should not include copies of pieces of facts, but references to locations in a fact universe. And facts should not refer to narratives at all.

This polemic identifies CS as the culprit. That seems empirically wrong. As stated, it's "not a prerequisite for most programming" even in theory, and in practice, there are mountains of GitHub programmers, at least, who don't have CS backgrounds. Non-CS folks probably account for most of the "frontend"/"full stack" development today. This has exacerbated the Tower of Babel, not improved it.
HCI is CS—and that's what we should focus on. There's a fair bit of emphasis on engineering due, too. To be able to look at a problem and ask, "What should it take?" and ocnversely, "What isn't required here (contra cultural imperatives)?"

In other patients, scans revealed damage to the nervous systems of the intestines and heart before the damage in the brain's dopamine system was visible
Questions:
- What kind of damage to the nervous systems of the intestines and heart were seen?
- Did the damage to the nervous systems of the heart and intestines occur simultaneously, or were there any instances in which damage was revealed in one organ before the other?
- Is it possible that the damage began in the intestine first, then went to to the heart, and then went to the brain?

Cholesterol
This is a fat-like substance found in every single cell in the body. It aides the body to create hormones, vitamin D, and it also helps to digest food. Many dairy products are rich in Cholesterol which can be harmful if intaking high levels of it. This is due to fat deposits in the blood vessels which increases the risks of heart disease.

Vice versa, we did not observe viral particles in cardiac myocytes and, therefore, we cannot infer on viral cardiotropism. Cardiac myocytes showed non‐specific damage that was mainly characterized by focal myofibrillar lysis. In addition, we did not observe cytopathic endothelia and small intramural vessel inflammation or thrombosis. Other cases are needed to confirm this observation.

Cardiac myocytes showed non‐specific features consisting of focal myofibrillar lysis, and lipid droplets. We did not observe viral particles in myocytes and endothelia. Small intramural vessels were free from vasculitis and thrombosis. EMB did not show significant myocyte hypertrophy or nuclear changes; interstitial fibrosis was minimal, focal, and mainly perivascular

The pathologic study showed low‐grade interstitial and endocardial inflammation (Figure 1A and 1B). Large (>20 μm), vacuolated, CD68‐positive macrophages were seen with immune‐light microscopy (Figure 1C and 1D); they were ultrastructurally characterized by cytopathy, with membrane damage and cytoplasmic vacuoles (Figure 1E). The ultrastructural study demonstrated single or small groups of viral particles with the morphology (dense round viral envelope and electron‐dense spike‐like structures on their surface) and size (variable between 70 and 120 nm) of coronaviruses (Figure 2). COVID‐19 infected Vero cells were used as control. The viral particles were observed in cytopathic, structurally damaged interstitial cells that demonstrated loss of the cytoplasmic membrane integrity (Figure 3)

It is reasonable to expect that severe and critical cases have more severe effects on the cardiovascular system owing to more robust inflammatory response. At this early stage, our knowledge is mainly based on available numerators data, and the exact population-level denominators are not known. Also, it is likely that the asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic cases are missing from most reports, which further skews our understanding of the disease.

Despite low expression in CMs, ACE2 was highly and specifically expressed in pericytes (Figure 1E). In addition, the expression of ABCC9 and PDGFRB and the absence of MYH11 help us to reaffirm the identity of the cells as pericytes instead of SMCs (Figure 1F). Different from SMCs that are located in the coronary arteries or arterioles, pericytes spread outside the endothelial cell of capillary and part of venules, which may play an essential role in myocardial micro-circulation. This result suggested that pericyte was a potential SARS-CoV-2 virus targeted host cell type in the human heart. We further screened another two related receptors of SARS-CoV, CD209, and CLEC4M. CD209 was specifically expressed in macrophage, and co-expressed with macrophage marker gene CD163, which may enhance the virus entry in the human heart (Figure 1G). CLEC4M was not enriched in human heart cells.

Beta blockers have long been associated with sleep disturbances such as difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, and insomnia. They have been shown to reduce the production of melatonin via specific inhibition of beta-1 adrenergic receptors. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland in the brain, and helps in maintaining normal circadian rhythms.6,20-21 People with hypertension already have a lower melatonin production rate than those with normal blood pressure.22
The question becomes, then, do beta blockers impair sleep when exogenous melatonin is administered concurrently?

Epicatechin is known to prompt cells that line blood vessels to release extra nitric oxide, a substance that has multiple effects in the body. Nitric oxide slightly increases vasodilation, or a widening of the veins and arteries, improving blood flow and cardiac function. It also gooses muscle cells to take in more blood sugar, providing them with more energy, and it enhances the passage of oxygen into cells.

Who is to say that robbing a people of its language is Jess violent than war? -RAY GWYN SMITH'
This is particularly evident when examining American policies aimed at "civilizing" native peoples and remaking tribal worlds in the image of America (and by extension, England and Western civilization). A central piece of the violence the American government perpetrated against Native peoples of North America was forcing them to abandon their own languages in favor of English. In other words, "taming" the native populations of North America inherently involved the "taming" of a "wild tongue."

How does the heart rate monitor work? The Pebble 2 and Time 2 will use optical heart rate monitors that will monitor heart rate constantly during a workout. When at rest or sleeping, heart rate will be monitored every 10 minutes, ensuring your resting heart rate is monitored with little to no battery life impact. The monitor will have no problem with sweat, but won’t provide heart rate readings when submerged in water. Please note: Pebble devices with a heart rate (HR) monitor are intended to be a valuable tool that can provide an accurate estimation of the user’s heart rate. Pebble smartwatches are not medical devices and you should not rely on the accuracy of heart rate data for any purpose, especially for medical or health purposes.
Straight from the horse’s mouth. We now know that heart rate monitoring on the Pebble smartwatches is as infrequent as the Apple Watch. Ah, well… What remains to be known is what “constantly” means, for workouts. Every second, as with Fitbit?

I first give you the Key that will unlock every mystery that now hides from you the secret of MyBeing. This Key, when you once know how to use it, will open the door to all Wisdom and all Power inheaven and Earth. Yea, it will open the door to the Kingdom of Heaven, and then you have but toenter in to become consciously One with Me.This Key is"To THINK is to CREATE", or"As you THINK in your HEART, so is it with you."Stop and meditate on this that it may get firmly fixed in your mind.A Thinker is a Creator.A Thinker lives in a world of his own conscious creation. When you once know how "to think," you can create at will anything you wish, -- whether it be anew personality, a new environment, or a new world.
"This Key is"To THINK is to CREATE", or"As you THINK in your HEART, so is it with you".
The word that really stands out here is 'heart'. It doesn't say as I think in my mind. And it continues to on with "When you once know how "to think," you can create at will anything you wish." This suggests there is something for me to learn about 'thinking' in the context that is is used here.

There is nothing dead, for I, the Impersonal ONE, AM all that there is.I AM Infinite and wholly unconfined; the Universe is My Body, all the Intelligence there isemanates from My Mind, all the Love there is flows from My Heart, all the Power there is, is butMy Will in action. The threefold Force, manifesting as all Wisdom, all Love, all Power, or if you will, as Light,Heat, and Energy “ that which holds together all forms and is back of and in all expressions andphases of life, -- is but the manifestation of My Self in the act or state of Being.Nothing can Be without manifesting and expressing some phase of Me, Who AM not only theBuilder of all forms, but the Dweller in each. In the heart of each I dwell; in the heart of thehuman, in the heart of the animal, in the heart of the flower, in the heart of the stone. In the heartof each I live and move and have My Being, and from out the heart of each I send forth thatphase of Me I desire to express, and which manifests in the outer world as a stone, a flower, ananimal, a man
God is the substance of all LIfe............
