The book changed my point of view. Statistics, surveys, and anecdotes bear out that there are a great many marriages that are soul crushing for a woman based on the traditional marriage roles that still dominate. There’s an inequality of sharing household chores and childcare and an inequality of who sacrifices their desired careers, especially poignant at a time when women are ascendant in their educational attainment and career opportunities. 2Lyz’s book gave me a clear picture of how in many “normal” seeming marriages––no infidelity, no physical or cruel emotional abuse, no addictions or criminal behavior–––a woman might live a far happier and more fulfilling life if she got a divorce or had never married.

A Note on the Cargo Cult of Zettelkasten
Modern cargo cults can be seen in many technology and productivity spaces where people are pulled in by exaggerated (or sometimes even real claims) of productivity or the general "magic" of a technology or method.
An example is Niklas Luhmann's use of his zettelkasten which has created a cargo cult of zettelkasten aspirants and users who read one or more of the short one page blog posts about his unreasonable productivity and try to mimic it without understanding the system, how it works, or how to make it work for them. They often spend several months collecting notes, and following the motions, but don't realize the promised gains and may eventually give up, sometimes in shame (or as so-called "rubbish men") while watching others still touting its use.
To prevent one's indoctrination into the zettelkasten cult, I'll make a few recommendations:
Distance yourself from the one or two page blog posts or the breathless YouTube delineations. Ask yourself very pointedly: what you hope to get out of such a process? What's your goal? Does that goal align with others' prior uses and their outcomes?
Be careful of the productivity gurus who are selling expensive courses and whose focus may not necessarily be on your particular goals. Some are selling very pointed courses, which is good, while others are selling products which may be so broad that they'll be sure to have some success stories, but their hodge-podge mixture of methods won't suit your particular purpose, or worse, you'll have to experiment with pieces of their courses to discover what may suit your modes of working and hope they'll suffice in the long run. Some are selling other productivity solutions for task management like getting things done (GTD) or bullet journals, which can be a whole other cargo cults in and of themselves. Don't conflate these![^1] The only thing worse than being in a cargo cult is being in multiple at the same time.
If you go the digital route, be extremely wary of shiny object syndrome. Everyone has a favorite tool and will advocate that it's the one you should be using. (Often their method of use will dictate how much they love it potentially over and above the affordances of the tool itself.) All of these tools can be endlessly configured, tweaked, or extended with plugins or third party services. Everyone wants to show you their workflow and set up, lots of which is based on large amounts of work and experimentation. Ignore 99.999% of this. Most tools are converging to a similar feature set, so pick a reasonable one that seems like it'll be around in 5 years (and which has export, just in case). Try out the very basic features for several months before you change anything. Don't add endless plugins and widgets. You're ultimately using a digital tool to recreate the functionality of index cards, a pencil, and a box. How complicated should this really be? Do you need to spend hundreds of hours tweaking your system to save yourself a few minutes a year? Be aware that far too many people touting the system and marketers talking about the tools are missing several thousands of years of uses of some of these basic literacy-based technologies. Don't join their island cult, but instead figure out how the visiting culture has been doing this for ages.[^2] Recall Will Hunting's admonition against cargo cults in education: “You wasted $150,000 on an education you coulda got for $1.50 in late fees at the public library.”[^3]
Most people ultimately realize that the output of their own thinking is only as good as the inputs they're consuming. Leverage this from the moment you begin and ignore the short bite-sized advice for longer form or older advice from those with experience. You're much more likely to get more long term value out of reading Umberto Eco or Mortimer J. Adler & Charles van Doren[^4] than you are an equivalent amount of time reading blog posts, watching YouTube videos, or trolling social media like Reddit and Twitter.
Realize that reaching your goal is going to take honest-to-goodness actual work, though there is potential for fun. No matter how shiny or optimized your system, you've still got to do the daily work of reading, watching, listening and using it to create anything. Focus on this daily work and don't get sidetracked by the minutiae of trying to shave off just a few more seconds.[^5] In short, don't get caught up in the "productivity porn" of it all. Even the high priest at whose altar they worship once wrote on a slip he filed:

"Frankenstein" does not begin in the way we expect. This seems pedestrian and boring. What you might not realize is just how clever this ruse is and how much information is packed into the very beginning.
The epistolary aspect introduces a frame narrative. The letters belonging to Margaret Walton Saville give us the story of her brother Robert Walton. Walton conveys to her (and us) the story of Victor Frankenstein. Frankenstein's narrative yields the story of the Creature. The Creature's story includes the story of Safie and the De Lacey family.
The outer "frame" belongs to Margaret Walton Saville -- notice that these are the same letters, or "initials," (M. W. S.) as Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.
Notice as well the place and the date. You may not know it but St. Petersburgh is like Las Vegas, Brasilia, or Dubai. It is an out of the way place, not particularly hospitable to humans, where a major city was artificially created. It was originally a swamp but the leaders decided to create a major, new city as an exemplary modern metropolis (and center of culture).
This is a leading theme of the Enlightenment and the book: the dream of the artificial and planned, which is entirely new.
Notice also that the book is squarely set in the eighteenth century, in the Enlightenment.
Note, as well, that December 11 should strike one as a time of winter darkness and not at all propitious for an arctic expedition.
Lastly, we have the first intimation of the lively controversy (in this book and elsewhere) between men and women: female domesticity (and due caution) versus male ambition and the drive for adventure.
To me this shows just how artfully constructed this text actually is, right from the start. Which reveals it to be not boring.

t’s not clear why the sequence of the vaccines only mattered in girls, partly because there has been very little research into how male and female immune systems are different. “Somehow immunology has been blind to sex,” says Aaby. “If you read research about mortality in low income countries, there is no such thing as boys and girls – there are children. So we perceive that they have to be the same, and they are definitely not the same.”
Take away: "Immune training" or bystander effects from other vaccinations may help to fight off Covid-19 or other infections, in spite of not being specific to that pathogen. Some of these effects are sex-specific.
Claim: "Somehow immunology has been blind to sex"
The evidence: This is not entirely true- there is actually a LOT of research into sex differences in the immune response, and it is well-known that women can generally mount stronger Th1-type immune responses against viral infections than men. This is thought to be partially linked to estrogen cycling, and partly due to the fact that women have 2 active copies of genes associated with immunity because those are encoded on the X chromosomes. Men only have 1 copy, and thus they don't generally mount as strong an inflammatory response. However, women are also more prone to autoimmune diseases as a consequence of having stronger inflammatory responses than men, which is seen in diseases such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus.

EDUCATION - L’élaboration de l’algorithme Parcoursup s’est faite en associant étroitement services métiers, juridiques et informatiques.Parcoursup s’appuie sur une gouvernance originale, structurée dès la phase de conception de l’outil. Afin d’éviter les écueils d’une relation classique de maîtrise d’ouvrage/maîtrise d’œuvre, les codeurs et les algorithmiciens ont travaillé au sein d’un groupe projet, aux côtés du cabinet de la ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la direction juridique et de la direction métier concernée du Ministère, sous le pilotage d’un chef de projet dédié. Cette gouvernance rend possible une communication optimale entre les différents pôles d’expertise (ex : réunion hebdomadaire entre la direction des affaires juridiques et les ingénieurs concevant l’algorithme) et assure au législateur la cohérence totale de l’outil avec le texte de la loi, même si des difficultés techniques impliquent parfois de trouver des solutions originales afin de conserver l’esprit des dispositions législatives. Ainsi, cette méthode de travail associant ingénieurs et administration a permis de se rendre compte au fil de l’eau que certaines normes réglementaires envisagées se heurtaient à des difficultés techniques, la publication progressive des textes réglementaires— au fur et à mesure des tests — ayant permis d’assurer l’adéquation entre la partie réglementaire du code de l’éducation et l’algorithme conçu. Suite à l’élaboration du code, la re lecture du document synthétique présentant le fonctionnement de l’algorithme par la direction des affaires juridiques a permis d’identifier la persistance de certains écarts entre la norme et l’algorithme, entraînant l’évolution de dispositions réglementaires. Aujourd’hui, la structure de gouvernance se réunit à nouveau dans une logique d’audit et d’amélioration d e l’outil, qui permet notamment de donner cette année à chacun des candidats le rang du dernier admis dans les filières demandées.

EDUCATION - L’élaboration de la cartographie des algorithmes à l’origine de décisions individuelles au sein du ministère de l’Education nationale.Le ministère de l’Education nationale nous a présenté le travail de cartographie entrepris en interne afin de mettre en œuvre les dispositions issues de la loi RépNum relatives à la transparence des algorithmes. Sous l’impulsion de l’actuelle responsable de la politique d’ouverture des données (placée au sein du secrétariat général du ministère), un groupe de travail a été mis en place, rassemblant les correspondants open data des différentes directions et de chaque académie.S’appuyant sur le registre des traitements de données à caractère personnel, le groupe de travail a sollicité les directions métiers afin d’établir la liste des traitements algorithmiques fondant des décisions individuelles (une dizaine de traitements identifiés en mai 2019). - Although some abolitionists were wealthy white men, most were ordinary people, including men and women of both races. White women and blacks were able to actively assist in the campaign to end slavery despite the fact that, with few exceptions, they were unable to vote. Similarly, the right to vote once belonged solely to white men until the Fifteenth Amendment gave the vote to African American men.
