“So I’m supposed to ask the Lakota Language Consortium if I can use my own Lakota language,” Taken Alive asked in one of many TikTok posts that would come to define his social media presence.
Based on some beyond the average knowledge of Indigenous cultures, I'm reading some additional context into this statement that is unlikely to be seen or understood by those with Western-only cultural backgrounds who view things from an ownership and capitalistic perspective.
There's a stronger sense of identity and ownership of language and knowledge within oral traditions than can be understood by Westerners who didn't grow up with it.
He obviously feels like we're stealing from him all over again. We need better rules and shared definitions between Indigenous peoples and non before embarking on these sorts of projects.

New Media Consortium Horizon Report This page provides a link to the annual Horizon Report. The report becomes available late in the year. The report identifies emerging technologies that are likely to be influential and describes the timeline and prospective impact for each. Unlike the link to top learning tools that anyone can use, the technologies listed here may be beyond the ability of the average trainer to implement. While it is informative and perhaps a good idea to stay abreast of these listings, it is not necessarily something that the average instructional designer can apply. Rating: 3/5

Working for CBC?
No. I was not "working for" CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. I was funded by CBC to fly back from New Zealand to Rarotonga as a public source for a CBC story. On offshore banking, and the background to offshore banking in the Cook Islands.
My impression? They needed a local "talking head" to illustrate their story, safely. Having gained footage of what they were interested in, the CBC reporter leading the story has rejected my own story about offshore banking.
Good enough to be a CBC headline source, but not good enough to be a CBC investigative source.

Full price student registration for OLCInnovate in 2017 was $400, with early bird pricing a mere $50 less.
Could we leverage he LVAIC consortium, and hypothetical volume, to reduce pricing for students?
