These are the kinds of litanies I use, to compose myself
She periodically brings herself back from the past to regain and maintain her sanity, her composure, her intellect. She tries yet again to separate mind and body when she is treated only as a vessel.

wait. I compose myself. My self is a thing I must now compose, as onecomposes a speech. What I must present is a made thing, not something born.
She is trying her best in an internal conflict to dissociate herself from the things Gilead does to her body (the commander in the ceremony, the doctor), but it is difficult because her body determines her so completely.
She tries to fight for her mind, even when the society she is in tries NOT to objectify women -- by preventing men from expressing their desire for them.

The Good Fight S4 E5 "The Gang Goes to War"
This episode features Diane chatting with a co-star about her note taking experience. The woman indicates that she took notes incessantly and voraciously, but that she never referred back to them. The experience just caused her extreme stress so she gave it up completely as she felt it never gave her any benefit. She resorted instead to a more zen practice of drawing circles in her notebooks. She showed Diane a pile of notebooks filled with circles in various designs and colors. Later in the episode while in court the woman asked Diane about it and Diane showed her some of her new circle "note" pages.

This shows how Public enemy started a physical movement among the people. Many took to the streets to participate in non-violent protests for the cause. Many were forced to hear what they had to say and there was a push for change. Public Enemy never wanted the protest to be violent, they just wanted change.
