Il caso più eclatante però, quello che ha fatto nascere il vero e proprio movimento antivaccinista in tutto il mondo, ha avuto origine in Inghilterra nel 1998, quando il medico Andrew Wakefield ha pubblicato su The Lancet, un’importante rivista scientifica, un articolo in cui metteva in correlazione proprio il vaccino trivalente Mpr con l’autismo e alcune malattie intestinali croniche, prendendo in esame appena otto pazienti
FALSO il movimento vaccinista internazionale esiste dalla fine del 1800, quando la gente moriva, oltre che per le condizioni igienico-sanitarie e ambientali scadentissime, anche a causa della vaccinazione antivaiolosa la cui applicazione ebbe come conseguenza la morte di milioni di persone in tutto il mondo. Il Dottor Andrew J. Wakefield nel suo studio pubblicato su "The Lancet" non collegò in nessun modo l'associazione fra l'autismo e la somministrazione del vaccino MPR e non prese in esame "appena otto pazienti". Qui sotto le conclusioni di quello studio che sputtanano le infamie riversate addosso ad uno dei più grandi studiosi dei disturbi dell'asse gut-brain:
