    1. Personally, I rather like the idea of typing into a field, backspacing to undo what you just typed, and having the field (and form) go back to being pristine. Aside from that aesthetic difference, my definition has the practical implication that it lets you know if you need to save the record or not.

    1. I really have no idea how you came up with this solution but that reflects a major problem with many npm packages, i.e. 90 percent of the library documentation should be pulled from the Git issues or SO answers.

    1. This does not have to be an additional form. In practice, you can simply add several checkboxes informing the user of each additional purpose and allowing them to give consent specific to those cases.

See the images above, which are a good example of how to do it and how not to do it.

    1. as is often claimed, rhetoric truly wants to become apractical art?

Is this true? This seems to be the project that people like Aristotle, Cicero, and Quintillian were concerned with (and its one that current writing textbooks advocate for), but the readings from last week seemed to push against any kind of prescriptive approach to rhetoric. Can you have "a practical art" without some kind of anchored definition? And who is it practical for?

    1. and it’s centrality to the white population of the whole state:

While the modern interpretation of this statement is one of racist connotations, the Board of Commissioners were very much being practical. In 1818, the year this report was written, only white males were fortunate enough to receive an education. So, keeping centrality to the white population was a practical decision.

    1. Again, that is good which has been distinguished by the favour of a discerning or virtuous man or woman, as Odysseus was distinguished by Athena, Helen by Theseus, Paris by the goddesses, and Achilles by Homer. And, generally speaking, all things are good which men deliberately choose to do; this will include the things already mentioned, and also whatever may be bad for their enemies or good for their friends, and at the same time practicable. Things are "practicable" in two senses: (1) it is possible to do them, (2) it is easy to do them.

      Good is virtuous, deliberate, practicable.
